I think i read somewhere that chris said that the hardest part was pretty much just a tribute to REM.

The Hardest Part definitely,a bit REM influence and a bit Keane as well

when my friend bought her new ipod nano the salesman (who was extremely feminine) gave myself and her this book called 'pocket Dj' with just pages of playlists. on one playlist it had coldplays 'yellow' as a rip off of 'bring on the dancing horses' by Echo and the Bunnymen. hmmm :/

Proof reminds me a lot of Angels by robbie williams...at least the opening.

 

And everytime I hear Daylight the opening riff makes me think of Blue Man Group.

 

Blue Man Group rocks by the way. See that show if you can. But yeah those are the similarities I see. And I agree with the REM comparisons.

Oooh, that's interesting. I love "Losing My Religion", one of my all-time personal faves. And yes, the opening seconds are similar.

Oh, and the first couple of seconds of "Warning Sign" reminds me of Crowded House "Don't Dream It's Over"

White Shadows sounds a little like Prince's When Doves Cry, especially the chorus ("Maybe you'll get what you wanted"/"Maybe I'm just like my mother") but I still love it regardless.

 

How You See the World also sounds very Lennon/Beatles around the chorus, which is no bad thing, again, I love that song.
