April 26, 201115 yr Kasabian to release 'epic' new album in October Band have been been making the album in San Francisco and Los Angeles Kasabian will release their new album in October, a record label spokesperson for the band has said. Although the album is still being finished and is currently untitled, the spokesperson said that plans to release it have now been put in place. "They're mixing it," the Sony/BMG rep told Thisisleicestershire.co.uk, as well as revealing the October release plan. It is believed that the rockers have been working with producer Dan The Automator on the record, and have been recording in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Guitarist Serge Pizzorno described the sound of the record by saying he thinks the band have bettered their last album, 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum'. "Well, it's epic," he claimed. "It's big songs that make you feel like anything's possible. It's a really positive record. I suppose it's a combination of all three records but we've just taken it a bit further." He added: "I'm really excited about it, because after the last record, people really liked it and wanted to know what was next, and I'm happy to say that it's got better. I'm excited about playing it live – there are tunes on there that are going to take people to a new place." http://www.nme.com/news/kasabian/56329 Octoberrrrrr :bomb:
April 27, 201115 yr So Kasasbian, Coldplay and Noel Gallagher (possibly) for October. That's going to be a big month. No doubt Tom Meighan will have something to say about a possible clash with Chris Martin and co. That'll be interesting.
April 29, 201115 yr I come home from holiday to find Q mag on me doormat and inside is Tom (wearing a duffle coat & looking like Paddington Bear!) and Serge talking about the new album  and a list of songtitles: Neon Noon Switchblade Smile ("heavy as fuck") Goodbye Kiss (a heartbreak song) I Hear Voices ("full-on electro") Shelter from the Storm (orchestral) Velociraptor ("it's mega punk fucking aggression" ~ Tom) Man of Simple Pleasures Green Fairy Definately due in October now  I.Can't.Wait. :cheesy:

April 29, 201115 yr I swear I had a coat just like that for school when I was like 7 or something, with woolly mittens and a satchel. Bless 'im, he just doesn't give a fuck, does he? :laugh3: Although the Justin Bieber fringe sweep has to go, it's freakin' awful. Even going back to the quiff would be an improvement.

June 1, 201115 yr on the cover of NME this week. any new album news/song titles we have not seen yet?
June 1, 201115 yr I got nme this morning on the way to work, then took an unprofessionally long, early break so I could read it  It makes for exciting reading I have to say. The three songs that get reviewed (Switchblade Smile, Velociraptor, Rewired) are described as sounding completely mad & insane. Switchblade Smile: "rumbling, evolving black clooud of techno intensity" "complex .... full of batshit vim on an epic scale" "It's heavy as fuck" "it's got a Beastie Boys edge to it, but it's pure Kasabian really. It's the older brother of Vlad" Velociraptor: a mix of Nirvana and the Prodigy "probably the first single off the album" "bubblegum hooligan, noisy, hooky, addictively nutty" "more violent than Club Foot" Rewired: "ambitious with a sublime melody" Serge says: "it's a big tune... it lures you in ... it's sleazy" Tom says: "it's sexy rock.. with some balls, something sexy and a bit wild" It's a funny article, Tom's banging on about sausages and Serge is gabbing on about being possessed by spirits during the songwriting  Bonkers, the pair of them. off tumblr :D There's a great little vid on the nme website too, if you aven't already seen it
June 1, 201115 yr Oh don't get me started on the hair :laugh3: Serge's barnet looks fooking terrible :blank: in fact it looks so bad it's making Tom's hair look more acceptable by the minute, so pr'aps I shouldn't complain too much ;)
