I just heard "The Hardest Part" will be Coldplay's fourth and final single off the X&Y album. Any idea what the b-sides will be? I'm hoping they'll do a studio version of "Ladder to the Sun". Anyone have some inside info?

We don't even know IF The Hardest Part will BE their fourth single. Lock this up, mods?

i read somewhere that Will mentioned HYSTW is going to be a b-side,which version i don't know,it would be logical if the 1st but they play the 2nd at the gigs :uneasy:

i don't think that they are going to put hystw version 2 as a b-side.

I really hope they don't do something silly and put HYSTW on the B-side of The Hardest Part. I wan't more new studio song's. The last album's singles had so many great ones.

No rumors on the actual b-sides tracks, but there's various sites showing this The Hardest Part EP which will feature live tracks from the TL tour. No info on which tracks nor what date, but very exciting! :D

Yes it is the fourth single. The official site announced it on 15th Feb. Today's announcement is for the official premiere of the single. Still no release date though.

 

As for locking the thread. I haven't seen a thread for discussion of the b-sides for the single. Although if you're going to be pedantic, technically this comes under the Hardest Part threads.

I'm pretty sure it'll be live tracks from the Abbey Road Studios performance. But that's a hunch...I've hear no rumors or anything.

So, it's a download-only single, so it won't be allowed into the offical combo singles chart because it's not availble as a physical single.

You can always download the singles directly from Coldplay.com, in the digital merchandise section. I bought the "Fix You" single off Amazon.com for like $15, and it was way too expensive. I assume "The Hardest Part" will be available for download on their site too.
