What if the world was ONE?

Featured Replies

Ok...............I had a discussion with my father an hour ago...I just asked him this:

What if the world had only ONE government? What if there was only ONE language? If the world was like ONE country?

My father said it is impossible to even think about that..he couldn't imagine that..............it is an utopia for him! What do you think.it really interests me!What will happen then?

it's impossible........ and i wouldn't want the world to be that way, then it would mean like the amount of opinions was very small for such a big government to work and it's sad to think. I mean there are so many countries and each runs on a different principal... it would be sad to think that the whole world were to run on the basis of one principal.

It's impossible

:rolleyes4:

i think people would try to free themselves from this union, everyone want to have a freedom

and there was also a time when the world was divided into much bigger empires, and the fact is that it didn't work because each nation wanted to be recognized and have their freedom and their own country....

ever read the book brave new world? i think that we would be heading for this situation when this world becomes ONE coutry with ONE law

Heh. A one world government means that's the beginning of the Revelation. And wow...thats gunna be fun.

i think it's possible. but there isn't a government (with its current laws) that exists right now that i think would stand through that. i think it would be better if there wasn't just one cheif executive, that person would have too much power. and there would have to be representatives from every region. the laws would have to be very lenient. but i do believe if everyone spoke the same language it would be highly likely. i mean... the u.s. is a pretty big country, and unless it's taken over i don't believe it will ever crumble because of the people within the country. i believe it could be like that everywhere, like i said. if laws were more lenient. at certain times in history there were people who ruled over almost all the world. the countries that are here right now would have nearly the same authority just like states within the u.s. have separate authority from the central government.

it seems like with a central government the only laws which they could really have authority over would be basic moral laws (murder, war, rape, robbery) and it would keep economic stability.

Hey...thebestyoucan, do u watch LOST at all...

I've seen 24 once and it was pretty good...I just can't really understand what they're sayin most of the time cuz they talk so quietly...

I think that one of the best things in this world is the difference between cultures, and it's impossible to picture an entire world speaking the same language because there'd still be little groups of people who want to be independent

A one-world government?

That's the number one thing I'm fighting against right now. That and herpes.

And back to the random off topicness about 24 & LOST... 24 really isn't that confusing. The basis for every season is this: Jack Bauer has had a really bad day.

it would be boring...

I think it would cause more problems rather than solve them.

It would be interesting, although every country is different....

The world could be a mess.

The world requires balance..light and dark... bad and good... something like that would throw balance out of whack. Besides, you've seen Crash I hope :D . Makes it a tad more difficult when stereotypes get in place too

Crash is a perfect way to express it. No matter what the laws are you can never prevent what a person thinks in thier mind.

it would be like a fairyland... :D

it would be like a fairyland... :D

Just like Brokeback Mountain :freak:

it would be like a fairyland... :D

Just like Brokeback Mountain :freak:

don't know... haven't watched it yet, but yeahh probably...

I definately hope the word wouldn't become like the world in that book. It'd be awful...

I don't like the idea of the world being one. I think that different cultures and languages only enrich our world. It'd be terrible if everyone spoke the same language etc.

And of course this is an impossible idea... the world could never be one...

ever read the book brave new world? i think that we would be heading for this situation when this world becomes ONE coutry with ONE law

I bet the ONE law would be 'Dont Piss In Our Pool We Dont Swim In Your Toilet' :wacky:
