hi there!

i'm vegetarian.I would like to meet vegetarian coldplay fans.so if you are

a veg post in here.i wanna know what you eat, what your family thinks of

the fact that you are a veg,how long have you been a veg,do you find it

easy to hang out with your friends when you go out and they decide to

stop at the next mcDonalds?...etc

yeooo!! i became a vegetarian like 2 weeks ago :D

I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years now. It's incredibly easy for me to not eat meat, I just don't do it.

It's much healthier, it keeps you away from fast food chains and forces you to eat good stuff. Luckily I have really great friends and they never tease me or pressure me to eat anything meat. If we have a party and order pizza, there'll always be one without meat for me. :D

I have been slipping a little, I've had calamari a couple times at some nice restaurants I went to with my family. I mean, the appetizer was like 15 bucks for a dish of it and I didn't want to make my grandma (who was paying) feel bad. But if it weren't for that then I've been very good about not eating anything that was once breathing. :smug:

I think what pushes a lot of people from vegetarianism isn't just the culture thing (like, here in America the addiction to fast food is a problem), but the lifestyle change it takes. You can't just eat pizza, or salads all the time if you're veg. It gets old fast and you start craving things. You've got to mix it up with different dishes. My grandma makes a mean vegetarian American Chop Suey for me once a week. It's excellent! You have to find healthy, vegetarian recipes. But if you just don't eat meat and eat a lot of crap, then being vegetarian isn't good for you.

And that's my 2 cents  Nice to meet fellow Coldplaying vegetarians!

im not a vegetarian but i prefer not to eat meat or chicken unless i have no choice... meat tastes yuk!

Being Veggie is easy as long as you don't worry to much about slipping up. If you you're out with family or friends, just eat and go back to veggie the next day. No big deal. I certainly don't worry about that little spec of pepperoni on the pizza slice I was offered. If you did, you'd go nuts.

I haven't eaten meat in so long that I don't even remember what it tastes like! :stunned:

I remember the exact time when I went vegie. I was with my mom and brother at Longhorn Steakhouse and I had a burger. I was biting into it when I looked up and saw this big steerhead on the wall, looking at me. I lost my appetite after that, and from that moment I haven't touched meat.

I'm not one of those crazy PETA activists about it (I think a lot of that stuff can push people away), but I do care a lot for animals. The abuse they go through before being killed just really bothers me. I understand that if you live in a poor country then you HAVE to eat whatever you can, then killing an animal for food is justified. But here in America, or other developed nations, we can all afford not to do this to animals.

People sometimes think I'm a veggie, but I just don't like the taste of most meat, but burgers, sandwiches pizzas and the likes are irresistable.

Besides other animals eat each other too, doesn't make make much sense to be a veggie if you feel bad for every time you take a bite of meat.

ive been a vegetarian for 3 years and i dont find it hard at all. my mum hates it cause i wont eat her food and i get sick of salad. everyone always forgets that i am and it gets annoying but they dont rly have a problem with it. people always ask me why im vegetarian but im not rly sure. i never rly liked meat and i hate the thought of eating animals but it sounds kinda lame when i say it and i dont think they rly believe me. they always think im dieting or something.

My parents stopped eating red meat back in the 70s because of the cost and plus it gives my mum awful migraines. So when I was born they treated me the same way. I only eat seafood and poultry or loosely, chicken and fish. I don't know if I am any better for it. I am certainly not some skinny feller with a lack of vitamins and ill looking. I am quite a well built 6 foot+ guy who loves food! I am not sure I could be a vegan though. That is a big step.

i have a question for you veggies

are you drinking milk or eating cheese?

^wondered the same thing... :)

Im a veg. Have been for like um alittle over 6 months now!

Hiya, I'm a veggie too :)

I don't know, but I don't like the taste of meat :P

btw, girlygirl, i love your sig :D

i can`t stand the taste and sight of meat so i`m a veggie too. been one for i think 4 years. but i eat fish. mmmmm

MagdaCZ, Thanks a bunch!

ya i agree i am one of those in which meat just doesn't taste very appitizing! I mean i will have a little everyonce and a while.

im going to a school were we all is served vegtarian food.. which is okay.. but i am a fan of meat ;)

i have a question for you veggies

Well, since I'm not vegan I do eat cheese. I don't drink milk though, just because it makes me sick (I don't think I'm lactose intolerant, but who knows, maybe I am  ).

I honestly don't think I could live without cheese.... But I get Happy Cow cheese, which is apparently from... happy cows. Ones that don't get killed after providing all their milk. I get it at the nice organic store down here in the city. :wink3:

I've been a vegetarian for about 4 years. First I stopped eating mammals when I was 9 years old and 4 yrs ago I gave up eating meat at all and I don't eat eggs either anymore.

I became a vegeterian because I always loved animals and didn't want to to hurt them in any way and I wanted to do the less harm to them.

Simple as that :)

Same. I try and avoid meat. I get criticized for not eating meat very often, by some people, as if I'm not eating healthily. I think that's crap though. I just much prefer salads and vegies and legumes and stuff. :/

  • 2 years later...

Time to reincarnate this thread

I'm going vegan for a month  Today was the first day

It's easier than I thought it would be. For breakfast I had oatmeal, for lunch I had salad and for dinner I had a baked potato and salad.

I'm really hyper now  Maybe it's cause I just had some passion fruit sorbet (dairy free!)

i said i was a vegetarian from 2003 to late 2007. i just dont really like meat, so it seemed like a no-big-deal thing to do. i did eat chicken, though, and i would slip up on occasion with bacon and hot dogs. lots and lots of my friends and people i know are vegetarians, so it wasnt a big deal in that sense. it's just that, well, i don't like most foods in general, and i would get made fun of because i was a vegetarian that didnt eat many vegetables. so late last year, i just stopped saying i was a vegetarian because i was sick of being mocked. on occasion i'll eat chicken or bacon or a hot dog, but i haven't changed my diet at all.

I come from a family of intense animal rights activitsts.... and then there is me, and all i eat is meat

I tend to eat mostly vegetarian dishes - but I like a little chicken, fish, or eggs every now and then.. Hey, we have those canines for something!:vampire:;)

I think it's possible to treat animals humanely, and to kill then humanely - but it's better if you can't relate to them. I have never been able to relate to the mindset or emotions of either a chicken or a fish (or a lobster, which is good with either butter, or a little olive oil and salt:P). I do support humane farming practices, and I do drink milk and eat cheese (hey, it's Wisconsin - it's the law here!):laugh3:.

But, keep up the good diet, Anna! Keep variety in it, though - good bean dishes are great, as are fava beans (if you're not allergic to them), brown rice with veggie stir-fry & soy sauce, whole-grain breads,...

I had whole grain blend pasta the other night, with home-made sauce (tomato, paste, zucchini, olives, onions, bell pepper, olive oil, salt, onion powder, cumin, crushed red pepper) , and spinach on the side. I like to take the pumpernickel bread, and spread some olive oil, garlic powder, and sprinkle it with crushed salt -a nice addition!
