I have been reading some of the concert reviews. Some of them seem to be giving Fiona more positive write up eventhough Coldplay's reviews aren't bad. What's the deal?

Coldplay is better

personally i hate fiona. my boyfriend fell asleep while she was on stage and his brother was just checking out the girls next to him. so yeah I definitly have to go with colplay, there set is way better and so are their vocals.

People always like to give better reviews to the less popular artist. It makes them feel cool and indie. If Fiona Apple ever gets as big as Coldplay, reviewers will be much stingier.

When you are on top (Coldplay) the only way is down....

 

When you are on the bottom (Fonna) the only way is to go up.

Fiona wasn't bad, she really is talented. But of course you're there for Coldplay, so eh. She was on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night. Randoms.

I love Fiona, so glad she's getting positive reviews! Can't wait to see both her and Coldplay in March. :nice:

I'll be honest, I had no interest in Fiona, I was there for Coldplay, but Fiona wasn't bad, but I didn't really care. :lol:

Wow. I didn't realize so many people hated Fiona.

 

I was THRILLED to hear they were toruing together. I love both, and I'm VERY much looking forward to seeing Fiona live.

Fiona's music is amazing she is a one of those true brillant songwriters. On stage she is a freakin LOON. She made no effort to egage the crowd and acted like she really could care less what we thought. I suppose that's cool she has been a "star" sinces she was 16 and cant' really relate to regular people.

Fiona is actually quite shy when she performs. She gets really nervous.

She kept curling up in a ball... haha

 

I think she's cool--she's got a great voice. It's real... uh, strong. :)

 

But, I was too freaking anxious to see Coldplay to care that much. :/

Shy really I see that now that you metion it. I thought she was just in her own world. When she played Sacremento she talked about what a bad night she was having. Then in Oakland after the first song I yelled to her asking if she "was feeling any better tonight. She said "to those who don't know He is talking about last night when I could not stop running my mouth" she seemed to "trip out" fafter that and that and did not say another word to the crowd all night.

I don't even care that she might be cracked-out on stage, all I know is that I get to see my top favorite musicians on the same night and my cheeks will hurt insanely tomorrow.

Fiona doesn't suck. Her songs are some of the most brilliant pieces of music written in the last 10 years. Stop dissing her. :rolleyes: She isn't Coldplay, and she cannot be compared to them because they are two different styles of music. If you genuinely don't like her, fine, but at least give her a chance before you make up your mind.

i love fiona! she has an amazing voice and her songs are unique and sounds kind of jazz and rock mixed together. definately better than other girl vocalists to me

To be honest, I am so very upset I didn't get to see more of her set. I only caught the last 2 songs. But I went out and got her new CD and I adore it! I immediately recognized the piano from Extraordinary Machine and Better Version of Me.

 

What I saw of her was a passionate live act! I really wish I had been more familiar with her stuff then I would have enjoyed it so much more. Her fans in Detroit were loyal and luckily drowned out the shouting from some assholes telling her she sucked. I heard " WE LOVE YOU FIONA!" and she was very grateful. I really want to see her and Coldplay one more time on this tour. Or is she already done with her half of the tour?

I think she is done touring with them now....but I'm not sure.

 

I hate rude people like that who yell stuff. Geez...just because you don't know her songs and she may not make the type of music you like doesn't mean that she sucks. That is just so fucking juvenile.

 

My friend and I are BIG Fiona fans, so during the D.C. concert we were singing our hearts out. Her albums are amazing...everyone should check them out. I would have preferred to see her in a more intimate setting; that would probably have been better for her style of performance. :)

...that is exactly it. Some people just don't like her style of music...and that does that mean she is sucky!

that girl is psycho on stage, i was cracking up every second of it.

but she has an awesome voice.
