Some sad news for all Razorlight fans :(

Andy & Razorlight Part Company

After five great years with the band Andy Burrows has decided to leave Razorlight.

The Winchester born drummer has opted for a quieter life away from the band's hectic touring schedule. New Yorker David 'Skully' Sullivan-Kaplan will take over the drums at the band's Razorlight's live shows until the end of 2009.

"The past five years in Razorlight have been an amazing experience," says Andy. "I am very proud of everything that myself, Johnny, Carl and Bjorn have achieved together but for personal reasons I have decided to leave the band. I will be pursuing other musical ventures."

"Over the last two albums and five years Andy has been an integral part of Razorlight and we will miss him," says Johnny."From the day he walked into our rehearsal studio it was obvious that he was an amazing drummer and he’s contributed on many levels beyond that. He's been a great player and a great friend and I think we'll both always be proud of the music we've made together. As far as the bands future is concerned we're all looking forward to touring with Skully and getting on with making our next record”.

Razorlight have a busy summer ahead. With a top 5 album and single notched up in Germany and unprecedented successes in the US, the band head to America, Australia and Europe before returning to the UK for May shows at 02 Arena and Manchester MEN followed by UK festivals.

That stinks.

He was an amazing drummer and singer :( I'm really quite upset that he's left. Good luck to him though!

Yeah, he's one of those guys you can't quite replace in a band like that.

:bigcry:

Good luck andy!

:bigcry::bigcry::bigcry: I cant believe hes leaving !! :( :( i thought johnny & andy were a great s/writing partnership :( :(

Razorlight's drummer has quit following a furious row with singer Johnny Borrell.

Andy Burrows - who co-wrote the rockers' biggest hit 'America' - reportedly decided to leave the group after growing tired of the frontman's diva antics during a recent promotional trip to the US.

A source said: "Andy has had enough of Johnny. They've always had a turbulent relationship - not least over who was behind their number one single 'America'.

"But it was this recent trip to the States that brought everything to a head. Andy is fed up with what he views as prima donna behaviour and told him he didn't want anything to do with him anymore."

The pair have always had a volatile relationship and even had a brawl in a London bar following the Vodafone Live Music Awards in 2006.

The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Johnny likes to think he is the driving force behind Razorlight's success but Andy doesn't see it that way. He feels he never gets the recognition he deserves and is the only one in the band who will stand up to Johnny.

"He gets really embarrassed when he thinks Johnny is acting up and tells him as much. Johnny doesn't appreciate the criticism."

Despite reports, Johnny and Andy have played down any acrimony behind the drummer's departure.

Johnny said: "Over the last two albums and five years Andy has been an integral part of Razorlight and we will miss him.

Andy - who joined Johnny, Carl Dalemo and Bjorn Agren in the band shortly before the release of their debut record 'Up All Night' following the departure of Christian Smith-Pancorvo - said: "The past five years in Razorlight have been an amazing experience. I am very proud of everything that we have achieved together, but for personal reasons I have decided to leave the band. I will be pursuing other musical ventures."

David 'Skully' Sullivan-Kaplan - who drummed for the band at a concert in Wolverhampton earlier this week - will replace Andy.

That is the biggest fucking load of shit i've read. That's not true ;) Andy left because he wanted to be with his new wife and daughter. Don't believe everything you read ;)

^ I know BUT can you be so sure? It might be for a number of reasons..

Well, yeah I can really. It's obvious they haven't been fighting and my mate Ben confirmed that (guy that got me to meet them). Andy just wanted to spend time with his family and touring was gettign in the way of that. Trust me, that's the reason.

Oh okay :), I'll see ya later, off for a hair cut....My emover is going :(

i like a few of there songs, thats it.

Andy was just too good for Razorlight, hopefully he will go onto bigger and better things.
