go to a nice college that is in your state and explore different majors. Don't declare your major until you're sure it's something you will like. I made that mistake... er.... are you from canada?

I am in Canada. I have the university picked out because my mom works there and gets a discount. :D But I'm not sure what the heck I want to do, or even how things work.

God,I'm finishing school next year and I'm scared too haha...Really,have no idea what I wanna do in my life.

I'm going into liberal arts, and am leaning towards international studies.

Truth is, I have no clue what I'm doing. lmfao. But I do know that I am really looking at a couple of schools.

I'm a junior and it's pretty stressful... But whatever. In the long run, it'll sort itself out and I'll find my calling.

if you're not too sure what to major in or what school to go to, apply to big universities where there are so many options. i didn't know what to major in until the end of my sophomore year.

So it doesn't look like many people are very sure of what to do haha...its a funny situation.

im in my last year of uni....meaning i have to go out into the real world and find a job and hope that i dont end up somewhere that i dont want to be and cant get out of for the rest...of...my...life!

Im worried about my future too...3months left for me

what options/courses are you looking to study in??/ Anything you really love in life?? something you would love to do??

here, you have to pick everything when applying.

oh brother i cant believe its true ive been trying hard to reach u cos i wanna talk to u oh i wanna talk to u !:lol:

hehe those lyrics fit this situation so well.

from what i read here u guys all have a big advantage that u dont have to pick your major before actually getting into uni. Here u pick yours, and once in, its not very easy to change it. Thank God I love what i do (Hotel Management), but one thing that really helped whan i wasnt sure what to do was those vocational tests (a real one, not those magazines ones  )... some might think its crap, but after mine i narrowed my options to one, and it is what i love to do...

Yeah, also here where I'm studying. I'm in second semester of Chemistry and I really like it.

Well I recomend you to think about all the subjects in school, did you like any in special or are you pretty good at any of them? In the case you cannot find the answer there are other many careers not related to school like business, music... etc. You have loads of options you can start reading about all the careers in the university you're getting into.

Worrying about what you're going to do with the rest of your life while you're still in highschool is dumb, because whatever you think about anything will change within a year or two of graduating.

I'm 23, and I'm in my second year of college. I didn't know what to do when I was in grade 12, and I don't know now. I tried a course in graphic design for a year before I decided it wasn't my thing, spent some time doing this religious studies thing, spent a couple of years working, decided I really wanted a college degree of some sort after all, and now here I am. I'm studying English because my dream job is to be some sort of writer, but I have no clue what I'll actually do when I graduate. Probably try to kill my travel bug by teaching english as a second language abroad or something. I've contemplated going to community college to learn to be an electrician, because I like doing active stuff where I work with my hands, and trades can pay very well.

My point is, I totally understand being worried, because I sure was too, but there's no way you can predict what will actually work out or what you'll like. Highschool is like this bubble world, and everything seems so different once it's gone. Any decision you make at this point isn't ultimatly as big as people would have you believe. There are so many more possibilities out there than you can imagine right now. Planning is good, but being open to the unexpected is good too. For me, prayer helps alot. I may not know entirely what's happening, but I trust that God does.

Even if you do go to college, at least in NS, people are changing majors constantly, and you can always take elective classes to see what you're good at. I don't think that most people who go to college even know what they want to take once they get there, and alot of the people who think they do will change their minds. Nothing is set in stone.

If you're rich you got no reason to worry about... :p

Thanks for the advice Erin. Ya I am doing alot of prayer and relying on God, the big guys got a plan for me its just frustrating not knowing what it is.

well i didn't know what to do and i've done vocational tests and the results didn't help me at all....about my personality i think almost everything is right, the problem is that in the end the course they suggest me is something i think that doesn't have anything to do with me....so my opinion is that those tests can help you if you are not sure what you're like but i wouldn't do what they told me to do....

but in the end my problem remains...i am in my last year of high school, i really have to make a decision and that sucks :(

I wish there was a period between high school and university just to think.

Yeah, there's so much pressure now to just go straight from one to the other.

But I don't care. I'm taking some time off.
