well here in China, i dont think we HAVE immigrants, foreigners here are mainly tourists, bussinessmen, language teachers and students.

I live in Shanghai, the largest city in China, and there're loads of foreigners from around the world. All is welcomed here whatever the nationality.

In Turkey there is nothing against foreign people, they are all welcome :)

I would love to come to such a county I plan to one day, I do know someone over there !

i had too much WKD. we actually experimented with the red and blue WKD. if you mix it together you get a purple one! doesn`t taste bad at all!

I will try........

Egypt has a history of being quite tolerant towards foreigners. Greeks, Armenians, French, Italian, Sudanese and many other different nationalities came to settle in Egypt. The numbers have probably decreased since, but that is mainly due to Egypt's economic failings rather than racial prejudice.

and you have this forum members (me and others)..I live in Ankara and some in Istanbul and a few other cities..just say when you will be here :)

Here in Argentina there is a lot of racism, specially towards peruans and bolivians...that´s in the north of the country. They´re treated quite badly, and, as there´s no law to preotect them because they´re illigal, their salaries are crap. In the south i think they´re more tolerant, but i think it´s because the inmigrants they get are from Europe (or so it was some decades ago...).

However, i dont know why there is so many racism in this country, Argentina recieved inmigrants from all over the planet since it was formed, so we all have different origens. In my case, for example, i´m have russian, a quarter german, an eighth spanish, and another eighth french. But the other day someone wrote ´Heil Hitler´ on the walls of my school, it´s a shame really, human beings wont ever learn from history. So sad...

There is no country in this entire world that has not experience/is not experiencing racism. I wish I could deny this, but it's like..human nature to some people!

Here in the United States, there is a raging issue about a new legislation being passed to make it so that illegal immigrants be treated like a criminal here. (I hope it does not pass)

NOt that immigrants are not welcome, but it must be done in an orderly fashion.

There is not one big group of people that are shunned in this country. It is every state and region in the US that picks one race or another to discriminate. It all depends where you are. Here, it would be blacks and hispanics (Texas-south).

I am hispanic, so I have in my life ( and actually, now quite recently because of these current events I mentioned ^^) experienced discrimination. So have members of my family.

It's mostly upper class whites that discriminate against me/us.

It's sick really. And I wish no one had to go through stuff like that!

I mean, I think it is rediculous that people are treated in a demeaning manner.

Like, haven't people learned their lessons over the time of history!?

okay okay i will calm down.

Right now, in the US there is still racism towars arabs/middle easterners. At another time, there was so drawbacks from asias because of diseases recently.

So basically, yes, there are periods where immigrants are treated unfairly because of changing circumstances.

1. What do you consider an "orderly fashion" to prevent illegal immigrants from coming to America? I mean...a law seems like a pretty orderly way to go about doing something...

2. I live in North Carolina, where there is a LARGE number of immigrants from Mexico and blacks that live here, I think we rank 3rd in the U.S. for the Mexican population in America...but its not like white people aren't discriminated against...in fact I think I hear more white discrimination here than any other race.

3. Don't you think Americans have a reason to treat the Middle Easterners a little differently because of an event that took place back on November 11, 2001? I mean it's not like we don't have a reason to think of them differently or anything...and I'm not a racist, I do have some Middle Eastern friends. And they are nice people, I love them...but I can't help but to be suspicious sometimes of a people that attacked our country and took the lives of our citizens...I mean that could have been me up in one of those towers. And we are sorta at war with them...at least the "terrorists."

4. I haven't heard anything about discrimination against Asians...maybe its just because of the area I live in or something.

5. I do hope a harsher bill gets passed so it will stop wasting my money to support some idiot that thinks they can cheat the system. I hate people that can take my money and just throw it away buying drugs or alcohol or something absolutely worthless.

Haha thats why Egypt took millions of Hebrews into slavery?

You mean during the Pharoahs? If so, then you may want to know that they weren't actually slaves then.

because they work more than you!!??

I can't work! I'm 16

Uhm I'm goin with the Bible on this one and saying...they were actually slaves. Hence the whole "Let my people go" quote by Moses.

In Australia, well.......

I would've said there is not much racism until I saw the Cronulla Riots, if you saw them on the news, that was concerning Lebonese people.

There are lots of different nationalities here, in the major cities sometimes I play spot the Australian :P. (not that that's a bad thing)

I heard investigations suggest it wasn't the type of slavery the Bible mentions...

^Yeah, history teacher told us many times how original Bible was modified in the age of Constantine Emperor and during the Medieval age.

The bible isn't exactly renowned for it's truth either' date=' is it?[/quote']

Thats why millions and possibly billions of people today consider the Bible to be the one and only truth that guides them in their life?

I've done my research on the Bible, and found an overwhelming amount of information that proves the validity of the Bible now as it was 2000 years ago. There are only acute changes, like using an "and" or a "but" in a couple more places to adapt to today's culture.

There are more writings about Christ and His teachings than there are about Socrates and Plato combined. I would agree that you do have to pick and choose between what is truth and what is fake, but I am satisfied knowing that on the day of my Judgement, when I am standing before the Almighty God, He will say to me, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, and I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord."

Haha, something that really annoys me of Christians is that they believe that they're majority just because the have a complete domain in the media. I mean, the world is way more than the western side...

Wow, I didn't know "Christians" had that big of a percentage...although most of the groups up there aren't really Christian, like Jehovah's Witnesses, and I have no idea what the hell a monophysite is... but I agree with you on the media thing...but it's not good media. I dunno about where you live, but Christians are gettin bashed over here in America. We aren't allowed to pray in our schools, or say the word "God," or "Christ," or even "Christmas." Also, the Ten Commandments have been taken away from everywhere except the Bible, basically. Christians are being persecuted A LOT, looked down upon in the social world, and it absolutely sickens me. How dare somebody tell me not to pray quietly in my class before a test because I am a Christian, but allows the Hindu on the other side of the room to pray because he isn't a Christian. How come the motherfuckers that blew our towers up and killed thousands of our innocent people are allowed to pray before their class AND I AM NOT? HOW DARE YOU deny me my right as a citizen of this country to extend my rights to the fullest power.

Our politicians are absolute assholes and I believe almost everyone of them should burn in hell for what a horrible name they have given to this country of "freedom," a name that the world shuns because of "our" ignorance and stupidity.

Sorry, I don't mean to annoy you because I am a "stupid Christian." I'm just a normal joe like you... I curse, steal, lie, cheat, hate, am selfish, jealous, and a hypocrit, but at the end of my life I know where I'm gunna be...I have that comfort, while most people do not. And I'm sorry if I wanna share it with the world.

Yeah, I'm not some staunch Baptist, legalistic Christian either.

However, SrfSnwColdplay... that is if you think we were actually bombed by Muslims or whatever b/s the media presented. Now... I also don't think it's right to discriminate against other religions and that crap... however...

I see where you're coming from. Christians are greatly persecuted today. Our beliefs are condemned while others are hailed as tolerable.

Nah the whole 9/11 thing is bs...but I thought I prolly couldn't convince him of that cuz I suck at the whole convincing thing.

Eh but you sorta have to be prejudice...we are still in a war...and our soldiers are dying...no thanks to France...haha sorry bout that I just couldn't resist. But it's not like you can be American and be completely comfortable with the Middle Eastern race right now...you don't know if the one you walk up to would be one of the terrorists that is trying to kill you. Or the one on the airplane is the one that is going to fly you into a building. And I know I can't blame the whole race for it...but it is the few that ruin it for the whole...And I hate the feeling of being suspicious of a single person because of something he didn't do...but I have to.

we have alot of nationalities here since this country was founded 58 years ago, and jewish ppl from all over the world still immigrate here, especially from Russia, Argentina and Ethopia... the government likes to say they're given equel rights but obviously they aren't. It's hard for them to find jobs, and there are all sort of stereotypes... I think they all started because of the language barrier...

and well, this is a country with two main nationalities- arabs and jews. Since i'm a jew, that's 3rd generation in Israel i'm a majority so i dont really know how the smaller groups feel, i can only imagine.

This is a small country but it's so complicated...

i did live in Norway and the Philippines when i was a child and we were imigrants, but i was too small to realise how it feels. The hardest part i guess would be language
