I was just wondering how emmigration works in different countries...

 

Is there a lot of different nationalities in your country? are they welcome in general? do they have good conditions? is it simple to legalize? is there racism?

 

I am an emmigrant myself... I live in switzerland for 9 years now and I'm happy... swiss has a lot of foreign people, sometimes I think if would be created an UN country it would be in switzerland...

Im not sure how imigration lwas work here in Brazil, but i think we r a pretty open country.

There arent many imigrants here where i live, but u can find A LOT in beaches, or places with a lot of tourism...

i think portuguese can stay here for a long time with no prob, i know that if they want to open a business they need a brazilian partner though.

 

I think the imigrants u get the most here is portuguese and argentinians... not a lot of racism, maybe a bit towards argentinian...

 

I think there isnt a lot of imigration here coz everyone seems to be wanting to get OUT of Brazil... not in :P

I'm not sure how are that things here.. but here in chile we don't have so much foreign people.. sometimes chilean people are racist... specially with people from bolivia or peru... I don't think that people from another countries wants to come here.. I mean... i'd love to live in another country .. but it's ok for now...

I think the nationalities of the immigrants in Switzerland have changed. There are a lot more different nationalities than there used to be a few years ago.

 

Unfortunately I can't agree about racism in Switzerland, there are defintely racist people in Switzerland. How people treat you depends a lot on your nationality though.

Well in germany there live many turkish and russian people...in general I have nothing against them...but many behave just like shit....some of them are very violent......for example at a germn school the teachers cried for help now because they didn't manage to keep the kids under control....the police has to have a look at the school now........the school has about 80% foreign people....

I also saw a report on TV about a gang of turkish people...they were so violent it was sooo bad....

I hate those people......it's not that I have prejudices against them..if many of them would bhave normla I wouldn't talk like that about them....

I know it sounds unfair now.......but the situation here is unimaginable bad.....

my parents have been to Berlin once....they said THEY felt like a foreigner there!:sick:

In America...illegal immigration is obviously a big problem right now and I'm guessing thats why you made this thread. I don't know what the world thinks about us...maybe we're ignorant? or rich? or just like retarded...idk. I'm not racist or anything but I believe that Mexicans and Canadians just don't have the right to come into our country illegally. The citizens of OUR country have to pay taxes for the illegal immigrants in OUR country. I saw some thing on the news that we were paying like 6 billion on illegal immigrants alone in America. I just don't see why the government is being so nice to people that are commiting a crime...they are breaking the law and should suffer the consequences for breaking that law...

I think every rich country has this problem... people from poor countries search for a better life, doesn't matter how and if it's legal or not... what makes that it's up to each government to prevent and fight the situation...

There is no country in this entire world that has not experience/is not experiencing racism. I wish I could deny this, but it's like..human nature to some people!

 

Here in the United States, there is a raging issue about a new legislation being passed to make it so that illegal immigrants be treated like a criminal here. (I hope it does not pass)

 

NOt that immigrants are not welcome, but it must be done in an orderly fashion.

 

There is not one big group of people that are shunned in this country. It is every state and region in the US that picks one race or another to discriminate. It all depends where you are. Here, it would be blacks and hispanics (Texas-south).

 

I am hispanic, so I have in my life ( and actually, now quite recently because of these current events I mentioned ^^) experienced discrimination. So have members of my family.

It's mostly upper class whites that discriminate against me/us.

It's sick really. And I wish no one had to go through stuff like that!

I mean, I think it is rediculous that people are treated in a demeaning manner.

Right now, in the US there is still racism towars arabs/middle easterners. At another time, there was so drawbacks from asias because of diseases recently.

 

 

So basically, yes, there are periods where immigrants are treated unfairly because of changing circumstances.

well here in China, i dont think we HAVE immigrants, foreigners here are mainly tourists, bussinessmen, language teachers and students.

I live in Shanghai, the largest city in China, and there're loads of foreigners from around the world. All is welcomed here whatever the nationality.
