The Choices you make....

Featured Replies

You dont really choose what music you like or what food you like....you either have a liking for mustard or not..the same going for heavy-metal music. :\

So, are these choices dtetermined when you're born...or is it experiences you experience during the first years of your life?

I was thinking about it today.....its not really your choice is it?

i think we make our choices. if not we're becoming persons who let themselves to influence by someone/something else what is actually a negative attribute in my opinion. of course people should listen to opinions, advices but to make decisions/choices they should decide themselves.

EDIT:

good advices help us to make right choices...lol

I was thinking about something like this recently...Im choosing universities at the moment for September, I keep thinking how different life could be for me depending on what one I choose...its scary thinking how you might miss out on making the friend/s of your life or doing something different if you choose one or the other. Weird.

Im not talking about other peoples opinions though...

Well....I didnt really explain it well.

What Im saying is that you dont really choose what food or music taste you like...that you either like it (whatever it is) or you don't.

^Totally agree with Nik

There are lots of ways that we can consider, but we have to take the decision that's most related to ourselves thought...We're the ones who has to choose what's better/worse for us...

dunno, i think you should decide that you like this or that kind of music/food or you don't. i have to say when i was 10-11 i listened to rap like Eminem for example...lol but after when i heard Coldplay for the first time in 2002 my taste in music totally changed and i was the onliest in my class who actually liked brit pop (call however you like it). i started to like Blues and Jazz 2 years ago.

i think our tastes change often, you like this now and don't like that now, in 2 months it might change. i don't think that would be our 'birth attribute'

Well it depends on the person.

Some people just accept what they like and move on with life with it, I consider them to be lazy. Other people experiment, and try new things, and even if they dont like something at first they give it a chance.

It was never easy listening to Massive Attack's 100th Window, but when you get into it, its brilliant. The same could be said about many books, movies, even foods.

I think it depends a lot on your environment where you grow up....I think you make your choices because of influences....although I think there are two groups of people....

the first one are the ones who are always influenced ,like a friend of mine...she changes her music taste just like her boyfriends...whenever she has a new bf she changes her taste to what the bf listens to!

the second one are the ones who have their own opinion....who experiment...who try new things because THEY want to...and not because they are influenced!

well, I know what you mean, Séamus, the environment is very important but anyway, just as the others said, it depends basically on the persons character..., if he/she is influenciable.
