heey! ;)

Yes, I am doing well! And you?

haha, yeah, I'm the one who you added on last.fm but no, you didn't kill me with your Spanish skills! I mean you were good! And well, I could only use the google translator if I wanted to type in German because my knowledge of that language is zerou... so don't worry about your Sp

I'm fine aswell, thanks!

I recognized i used 'saber' instead of 'conocer' or something like that :laugh3:

It'll be really emberassing when I'll be in argentina...!!:\

German is a nice language, you sould learn it ;)

well, they can be used as synonyms at times. There isn't a big difference between both words, I can tell you!

oh really? That's amazing! :D When are you going there? Surely you'll have plenty of opportunities to improve your Spanish once you're in Argentina!!

Yea, I agree with you. I'd love to learn German but first off I want to master English.

I'm going there the next sommer-hols, for 3 month! Well, i mean i'm staying there for 3 month ;)

My exchange partner will come to germany this december! :) I'm really anxious bout that!

Well, just tell me if you decided to learn german.. and i'll help you ;)

Mari you should definitely go!

I regret not going anywhere last year 'cause i had an opportunity to go just about anywhere to study for a year :disappointed:

BUT everything's not lost yet 'cause i can do that in uni  And damn i so won't miss that opportunity again

so does that mean you're going there summer of next year?

haha, I've never done that exchange thingy but I'm sure I'd be anxious for him/her to come as well!

I'll tell you, then! Thanks for the offer :)

Yoo Ricky, what's up? i read somewhere that you're sick?

I just found out that the reason why my parents were fighting with my grandmother yesterday is because they don't want me to go to England to do my postgrad.

they didn't give her any plausible reasons, just some random ones...

and now I don't know what to do...

Awww I'm sorry for you Mariana! :(

I think now it's important to find the reasons why they don't want you to go to England. Is it the money? Is it maybe the fact that they are worried about you going to a foreign country?

Then I would try to take them the angst. Ok it's easier to write than to do but perhaps you'll be successful.

If you'd ask me... go to England! You'll regret it sooner or later. :)

Hi@all!

I suppose you can always try to repeat the experience... even though it's not going to be the same. Usually nothing can top the first time!

In Spain? Where, exactly? I hopee you didn't go to Marina d'Or Ciudad de vacaciones

Usually nothing can top the first time!

You're so right... :( ;)

In Spain? Where, exactly?

In Javea, near Alicante...

you're living in spain, aren't you?

I wish I was wrong though. Now we always have to think of new things to do to surprise ourselves.

haha, it's fun that I've never been in Javea. Hope you had a nice time there!

Yeah, I live in Spain, in Barcelona. It's actually the 2nd largest city of the country.

Oh mari, poor you... :(

I'm sure you'll make the best decision. :)

Thanks Rudy!! :nice:

You have to do what's best for you. You shouldn't pass up an opportunity like this, as it will probably never come up again and you'll almost certainly regret not taking it.;)

It isn't as if you'll be gone forever, anyway.

I know, I know... it just seems so odd that THEY don't recognize the opportunity. They are my parents, they should be thrilled that I have the chance to study abroad, in a good university, in another country...

The only thing that would make me stay is not getting my visa Rolle, but i think i already got it coz I got an email from the embassy... not sure if I got it or not though, I'll have to wait for it to arrive here at my place...

And you go girl, Don't miss your opportunity again!!

you know what's the problem Lars, their reasons are lame and senseless.

my grandmother called me up this morning and told me that the reasons my dad gave were: "she should stay here another year, with us, go to the gym and work" - Now let's see the flaws in that: why postpone another year of my education and basically get behind others in a job market that really cannot wait, everyone knows that companies are searching for younger and younger ppl, with good qualifications. so why wait? they staysing with them is probably because their marriage has been shit for the past few years because he travels constantly and leaves my mum alone all the time - but I'm way past the age of being the child that saves marriages... Hell, I'm in the age I should be breaking other peoples marriages!! :laugh4: and the third one, the gym: I haaaaaaaaaaaate going to the gym. I've always hated it. I'm a lazyass, and admit it. he really thinks that after 22 years he is going to change that?

And money is not the issue (haha, that sounded so snob!!). It's not an issue because they are not putting a dime of their money on it. My grandmother had set aside the money for my postgrad, so it's not that. And neither is living in another country. I've been country hopping for as long as I can remember, with them, without them, so I can't believe they have a problem specifically with England. I know they hate the fact that I have an ex there, but I don't even talk to him nor hear from him in a very long time, so I'm certainly not going ther because of him.

And My mum... well, her reason is that according to her I'm living in a world out of my reality. whatever that means. My grandma thinks she means to say I want to pull off as a rich kid, such as my cousins, and I'm doing things I can't afford.

Again it's weird for my mum to say that considering I've been working since I was 18, even when I was living with my grandma. I got an internship when I was 19, when it was absolutely uncalled for and have been in the same company for years now. I pay for my credit card, I don't ask her for money, nor I ask my grandmother... like... I do some irresponsible things such as forgetting to pay for my cars insurance, but i was just about to sell it anyways... so, am I living out of my reality?

Gah. I'm so sorry to go on and on like this but sometimes I feel like a monster here in my house... I don't know if I should. I never gave my parents any trouble. Was always good in school, never got into drugs, my nights out dont bother either of them (as my dad is a DJ I started going out at night in a fairly early age, with him, so he knows i'm responsible).

again. I needed to vent. sorry thread. :nice:

I wish I was wrong though. Now we always have to think of new things to do to surprise ourselves.

You're so right with that aswell... :(

I've been to barcelona, too! Only for two days, we stopped there when we went back :) We did the barcelona-tours-thingy with the orange-blue buses :D

Mari, been reading your last "news" and I'm sorry to hear that your parents don't give you support in that. I'm happy that my family do give me support! I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it if they only saw drawbacks and started complaining about me moving abroad.

I'm glad that you've got clear ideas and it seems that nothing is going to stop for you from going to England to study and honestly, I reckon you'd do the right thing if you went there, because hey, it's your life ;) And surely it's going to be a great opportunity for you.

I don't think you had enough time to visit the city. Anyway, at least you can say you've been there! :)

I'm going to go now. Bye!! :)

Bye bye oenona, was nice to meet you.

I'm going to bed aswell. I'm really tired!

Bye everyone!

aw... thanks Irisita... you're always such a sweetheart. I hope we can meet while we are both abroad... :nice:
