May 28, 200620 yr Author Yes - and it's "Bibou" in German' date=' for some reason![/quote'] If you keep on with that yellow bird I'm gonna ask Ian to change my username :p
May 28, 200620 yr I'm blaming you because it's YOU who compares me to this awful yellow bird !!! Lars is nice' date=' so I'm not blaming him :p[/quote'] :dozey:
May 28, 200620 yr If you keep on with that yellow bird I'm gonna ask Ian to change my username :p To what?? What is Big Bird called in France, anyway?
May 28, 200620 yr grand oiseau :laugh4: (i would think?:\ ) Not necessarily, otherwise in German you'd expect it to be "Grosse Vogel"!!:P
May 28, 200620 yr "Gros oiseau" or "grand oiseau" ;) Yes, well the French language is a lot more logical than German, so I'm not surprised!!:P
May 28, 200620 yr Oh Mark, you write some German words.. I'm impressed! :) Ophelie, that word "oiseau" reminds me of a scary French song, which was very successful here. It's similar to Schnappi... just awful... a kind of comic with crocodiles and birds.

Not as scary as Wolfgang Petry, though!!:P You MUST tell us that expression for people from NRW, by the way - I want to tell my students!!
May 28, 200620 yr Author Do you remember what the lyrics were, Lars ? Steph, yes. About twice more than what I expected... Plus, it's not as if I only had to pay the studies... I have to pay the Accomodation, the studies, Eurostar tickets, and tons of things I don't already have there. And if I'm not allowed to stay in the halls, I'll have to pay for a private room. My parents just can't pay all that. Even if I'm offered a scholarship, it won't be enough... You know what ? Paris really wants to keep me ...
May 28, 200620 yr Not as scary as Wolfgang Petry, though!!:P You MUST tell us that expression for people from NRW, by the way - I want to tell my students!! You really want to know it, heh? ^^ Ok, but it's better for you not telling it to your students, otherwise you would get a problem. :P Sometimes we call people from NRW "Ruhrpottkanacken", but I never said it to anyone coming from NRW. Ophelie... Un oiseau, un enfant, une chèvre Le bleu du ciel un beau sourire du bout des lèvres Un crocrodile, une vache, du soleil Et ce soir je m'endors au pays des merveilles :D :D :D

There's also "Ruhrgebietkanacken". This is often used to insult Schalke fans!!
May 28, 200620 yr Author Ohhh gosh Lars, it's Ilona... stupidest song I've ever heard... Poor girl, she is only 13...!!
May 28, 200620 yr Author I teach English. That's why you're that good  Ok, forget what I said :p
May 28, 200620 yr I never heard "Ruhrgebietkanacken" here... it's too long! :D You really teach English? :o I always wanted to know what you're doing here in Germany. :nice: Yes Ophelie, I think the song was called "Un monde parfait". ^^
May 28, 200620 yr That's why you're that good  I try.......................................

May 28, 200620 yr Author I'm thinking about it thank you, but as I don't know anyone there except Steph, it's quite difficult to find a room mate.
