I know :p , how was ur flight Kara ? did u had promblems ?

The flight on the way there had loads of delays....but it was ok. Lots of security checks as well.

The flight back had no delays, but had such annoying people on it.....some drunk American man, and some Russian men who thought they had the authority to walk around the plane when it was nearly landing!!!! IDIOTS!

oh well!

hows your week been?

Well at least u got there :laugh4: hope u took lots of picks ;) , I've been great thanks , im going back to school on monday :( i still need to get some books and stuff

It beggars belief that anybody would act like that in the present climate. They're lucky they didn't all end up being shipped off to Guantanamo!!:stunned:

Did they get arrested after the plane landed?

Nope....the flight attendants did absolutely nothing!!! It was ridiculous. This drunk American man (in his 50's prob) would not stay in his seat, and I just remembered, he was saying stuff like...."what if someone bought a chainsaw onto the plane" and saying his father taught him not to trust English people because theyd always carry a knife in their bag" or some ridiculous crap like that.:veryangry2: I mean, W T F.

We flew on Continental airlines........their flight attendants did basically nothing to stop these idiots disturbing everyone else. We're not flying with them again.

It's a pity you couldn't have caught it on video. It would have made headline news for sure! You might even have been able to claim compensation for "distress". I'm surprised it didn't result in some passengers having panic attacks!

The chainsaw comment is weird, though, considering it's one of the things people have tried to take on board in their hand luggage.

Check out the "Confiscated items sold on ebay" thread!;)

It probably sounds worse than it is........they were just extremely irritating and like you said, given the circumstances, acting in a completely irresponsible way for the other passengers. I knew they weren't terrorists....but they were intimidating.....and the airline should have done something about them!!!!! I was just so glad to get off the plane. *sigh*

Did you hear about that other plane which had to make an emergency landing because somebody wrote something threatening on one of the sick bags??:stunned:

Nope! didnt hear that one!

Only heard the one with the woman being hysterical and claustrophobic.....she got tied up didnt she, until they landed at a different airport. :speechless:

Maybe a stupid question:

But did anyone who lives outside Germany hear about the 2 suitcases that were found some weeks ago at two german stations and which contained bombs?

They found out these days that those probably were brought to the stations by terrorists....and that the explosions might have been as strong as the ones in London in 2005!

I heard Lars say something about it the other week, its pretty damn scary. :(

Yeah somehow it is....because somehow i felt save here in germany....because of our political state....and I didn't expect that.....that the suitcases belonged to terrorists....

Hello!!! How is everyone!

Kara! It's great to hear that you're back and safe! Sorry to hear that the flight back was hell.

Actor Everett labels Starbucks a 'cancer'

Hollywood star Rupert Everett has branded the Starbucks coffee chain a "cancer".

The actor is backing a campaign to boycott a new branch close to his home in Bloomsbury, central London.

It will be the first major chain to open on Lamb's Conduit Street, which is famed for its small, independent shops.

Everett, 47, said: "Starbucks is spreading like a cancer.

"Nobody in the neighbourhood wants it, including me.

"There are plenty of diners and coffee shops there already."

Petition

Everett, who starred in An Ideal Husband and My Best Friend's Wedding, has joined with 1,000 other residents and traders to sign a petition expressing "deep concern" about plans for the new Starbucks.

The petition claims that the store's opening next month will herald the end of the long tradition of independent shops in the street.

Ash Ranpura, who lives in the street and helped organise the campaign, said: "Lamb's Conduit Street is a rarity in central London, having a genuine village atmosphere where locals know each other, stop and talk and rally round when their community is under threat.

"It is one of the jewels in Camden's crown and has been quietly transforming itself into one of the most charming, unique and interesting shopping streets in London.

"The loss of such a thriving street to global chains would be a great loss for the capital."

Representatives for Rugby Estate, the street's landlord, defended the decision to allow Starbucks to open, describing it as a "highly reputable company."

Starbucks said the store would provide more than 10 jobs.

The company said it looked forward to a good relationship with residents and "contributing to the community."

Craponental, that's your problem right there. You should have told him to sit the fuck down before all the English pulled out their knives and stabbed his drunk ass. :laugh3:

Ohh so Steph is a cancer merchant now. :P
