September. I haven't gone in a while because I had to go nearly every week when I was getting confirmed earlier in the year and I can't wake up that early. :|

Getting confirmed?

I did that when I was 18, but I've been seriously questioning my beliefs since that :blank:

I go to church every Sunday. WASSSUPPPPPP

confirmation - catholic sacrament

Ohhh, OK. Gotcha. Thanks.

What religion did you grow up with Violet?

Like what religion are your parents?

I was raised as a Christian. My dad was raised as Assembly of God, and my mom was raised as a Baptist. They don't really fit into a denomination anymore. My brother (the one I was talking about getting baptised) is Baptist, and he goes to a private Baptist university. When my other brother goes to church, I think he goes to a non-denominational Christian church.

That totally was more than you asked me, but I felt it was necessary, for some reason.

This, except it's Christian not Catholic. Catholics have confirmation but it's not limited to only them.

I'm "United Church of Christ", which is basically Presbyterian.

That's so.. confusing.

I was wondering, cause like christina said it's not limited to catholic.

So I was like  aren't your parents supa religious?

I've never even heard of assembly of god.

OOOOOH. :surprised:

It wasn't meant to be, but I'm sorry it turned out that way.

They are, yes. They're just not in those sorts of denominations.

Assembly of God...I don't really know how to explain it. My dad says there was lots of hell-raising and running through the aisles and stuff. It's one of those types of Christian sects.

It's kind of funny, because so many people on this forum are not religious. . . I'm not used to it. :P

Where I'm from, we aren't all "PRAISE THA LAWD!" but it's a primarily Catholic area, so most of my friends go to church every week.

Well, it's nice to have some sort of exposure to stuff that you aren't exactly accustomed to. It helps broaden your horizons and allows you to be more open-minded about what other people believe. :nice:

"PRAISE THA LAWD!" BAHAHAHA. I almost died. :laugh4:

last time I went was in July for the anniversary of my grandfather's death... I did it for my grandma. I'd say I typically go about twice a year, but honestly I never really went much even growing up... my parents never really stressed on it, but wanted us to make our own decisions.

But... I believe in god, an afterlife, and even find the stories interesting but I don't like all the man made rules attached, not to mention the whole church scandals with children which is outright disgusting.

Very true. I have a few friends that are Jewish and Muslim, and it's very interesting to see how different and also similar our religion and customs are.

:P

Bahahaha! I didn't even notice that!

I grew up with religion so I feel kind of bad when I don't go to church even though I don't believe.

But it was slowly drilled in to you at school. Saying prayers in the morning in school was really annoying.

We had this teacher for two years who made us say

Our Father, Hail Mary, Act of Sorrow, Glory be, Our Father in Irish, Hail Mary in irish and other ones.

And all the ways up till I was about 11 we had to say grace before eating our lunch and afterwards say a prayer thanking for it.

Probably sounds fierce religious  Shame I can't remember half of them.

My parents gave up on praying before meals when I was about 4.
