Doubts over Van Nistelrooy future

Featured Replies

:stunned:

Ruud van Nistelrooy's Manchester United future is in doubt after he drove away from Old Trafford three hours before the final match against Charlton.

A club statement said: "We can confirm Ruud van Nistelrooy has gone home.

"The club will be making no further comment as we are concentrating on today's game."

Van Nistelrooy, 29, has spent much of the final third of the season on the bench and this latest omission puts his United future in doubt.

The Dutchman had been at Old Trafford on Sunday morning and is understood to have been fully fit and expecting to play in the Premiership finale against the Addicks.

Recent newspaper speculation has suggested that Van Nistelrooy could leave United in the summer, but boss Sir Alex Ferguson has not made any comment about the striker's future at the club.

Rumors are already swirling that he'll be diving for Newcastle next year. mmmm Ruud in black and white, will that make him look more zebra than horse? :laugh4:

it's Ruud's fault...

RUUD VAN NISTELROOY will be sold by Manchester United after a SECOND punch-up with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Dutch striker was axed for Sunday’s clash with Charlton over the incident and chief executive David Gill last night gave manager Alex Ferguson the OK to flog him.

Van Nistelrooy is understood to have taunted Ronaldo, referring to his Portuguese countryman and assistant boss Carlos Queiroz as his dad.

Ronaldo was furious, reminding Van Nistelrooy his real father, Dinis Aveiro, had died only last September.

But the Dutchman continued and the pair came to blows before being dragged apart by team-mates.

Some United stars feel Ronaldo gets special treatment from Queiroz.

But this time the other players and Ferguson sided with the youngster.

Ferguson’s relationship with Van Nistelrooy has been worsening all season. They have hardly spoken since the striker’s axeing from the Carling Cup final.

Van Nistelrooy’s agent Rodger Linse said last night: “Ruud didn’t leave Manchester, he was sent away. We have decided we will remain silent in this matter. We won’t be lowering ourselves to the level Ferguson has been doing via the media.”

i think, unfortunately, Ruud hasn't had a great season. yes he has scored 21 goals in the league and good when you consider how many matches he has played. however, the rise of Louis Saha hasn't been good news for Ruud and forced him out of the team ...

when a player falls out with Fergie once too many times, you have no future at old trafford and thats whats happened here. not sure about that Ronaldo and Ruud fight but Ferguson did say that there had been a couple of issues in the week... so it could be true.

Ruud will leave ... and i'm not too upset because Saha, if he keeps scoring and playing like he has, is a better player.

they'll need to replace him, Utd need 4 strikers, and by that I don't mean Ole returning

I think you'll find it's definitely the end of the Ruud this time!!
