I couldn't see how they looked, so obviously it was solely on talent. And then i couldn't stop watching the Clocks video ( it was the first video i actually paid attn to, excluding Yellow...i saw the beginning and never kept watching :P)
May 24, 200620 yr I liked Coldplay because... really, they were the only band I knew when I was 11, haha. I had 3 songs from them that I really liked (yellow, clocks, and the scientist) and I decided to get all of their albums. I went on CPing a loonggg time ago and looked at a few pictures of the band to see what they looked like, and I thought.... they were ugly. :bigcry: And in one point of my Coldplay fandom, I thought Chris's voice was annoying. My cousin and I agreed that Coldplay would sound better with a different vocalist. Not anymore... heh. I browsed the forums and the picture threads a little more (I never signed up until last year) and I started to think the band was attractive...

May 25, 200620 yr When I first heard Coldplay, I actually liked the music first. I usually listen to the band's music BEFORE seeing what they look like, so it's always been about the music. If they're gorgeous on the side, then it's just an advantage. I enjoy Waking Ashland, for instance, and their lead singer has the ugliest eyes I've ever seen. They're all... bulgy and gross. But I like the music. If people like a band simply for their looks, I think that makes them superficial. I've been about the music for a long time, and having a crush on Chris is just a side effect of that. And I used to think none of them were attractive. Now it's like, "Holy crap! How could I think that?!" But I think it's because, having listened to their music, I see they're great people, so their inner-beauty kind of shines through when they perform. That makes them absolutely GORGEOUS to me. Another good example is with Keane. I used to think Tom Chaplin was hideous and now I think he's absolutely adorable, or Tim Rice-Oxley. Same thing. I hate people telling me I only like a band for their looks. That's not true. I listen to the music and THEN the person. (The one case this isn't true is with Sondre Lerche, but that's cuz I liked the song in the music video as well as his looks.) (I sound so un-me up there. >>; ) (...long reply. May 25, 200620 yr I think falling in love with a band is alot like falling in love with another person. When you first meet them, you may or may not find them physically appealing. But as you grow to love them more, they become more beautiful to you. I, like most people, heard the music before I saw the band. WHen I first saw them, I thought they looked pretty average. But as they, their music and I have grown over the last 6 years, they've become more attractive. Maybe they always were, and I just didn't notice...Either way, enough philosophising outta me...THEIR ALL DAMNED HOT NOW!!!

May 25, 200620 yr well, I know that in the music industry sometimes is very important the look ,coz some bands or singers become famous for their looks!(in the good way and in the bad way)!but i have to say that when I started to listen to Coldplay I didnt know how they look,the only thing that I knew was they were 4 guys from England hehe xD ,and in the yellow video Chris appears so weird and the other not appear! hehe I felt in love for their music and then when I saw them in Tv I said.."umm they are cute too" haahaha xD but the fact ,is besides the look ,they are great musicians,and their music inspires me and fulls my life everyday.Coldplay rocks!!:)

May 25, 200620 yr I'm not such a big fan last weeks...But, actually, when I fell in love with Coldplay I was listening to Parashutes, I had no idea how do they look like. Can't say I like their appearance much, they're pretty usual looking.
