I certainly don't think all songs are about romantic love or something like that. Coldplay goes much deeper then that. Well i think all of Coldplays songs are open to interpretation, but i think the song X&Y is about love: "You and Me", but its a tough relationship, and there are disagreements: "Trying hard to speak", "So part of the plan". He mentions a tidal wave, as apposed to them floating on a calm sea, which i think is a metaphor for their relationship - its a thrilling ride, but its fierce and far from peaceful. Just to name a few points.
