When the Italian team got the penality, a TV commentator for our national television network(CCTV) cried out hysterically" Penalty!!!!! Penalty!!!! Long live great Italy!!!! Dont give the Aussies any more chances!!!!"

Now this has become the most sensational news all over China! It's simply sooo shocking! As a TV commentator you must stay neutral, b/c two non-Chinese teams were playing! This guy is a longtime commentator on Serie A, and he later admitted he roots for the Italians, and he really wanna see Italy in the final.

So any opinions, y'all?

This is just ridiculous.. I've never seen fans behaving like you Italians are.. It's a shame! And that's why I really don't wanna see the Italians winning the cup.. Football is more than just the performance on the field, it's also the fans' and players' behavior - and from that point, you don't deserve winning AT ALL!

There's no need for me to be invidious or jealous because it wasn't the team I was supporting the whole World Cup through.. You could tell me so if it was about England - but the victory of Germany wasn't that important to me. I just prefered them to Italy because I've already noticed before what kind of winners Italians are.. The way some of you talk on here is just childish, arrogant and mean and I really don't want such people to win..

I'm not saying that the thread is arrogant, I'm saying that certain fans on here are arrogant about winning. If I'd avoid all of you, I couldn't write in any single thread of this section anymore. And I can say my opinion, just like all of you can.

Ok, but, according to you, is it correct to give a definition of Italians as arrogant, childish and stupid? Everyone of us are joking here, it's a World Cup, not a war...for Italians is an event to take a revenge and to win finally a cup...it's normal in my opinion to have some enthusiastic behaviours, or not?

I pointed out right at the beginning that I'm not saying anything against Italians in general. I love Italy, I've just spent a week there, and I love the country and the people, I truly do! One of my best friends is Italian!

 

I was just shocked by certain posts on here, not necessarily yours, and just had to say my opinion.. It's alright to be happy about winning, but you should keep it within your country and don't diss the ones that lost, you know? I just think that's not fair..

 

I don't want a fight on here and I understand you - if I'd be in your position, in a thread "only for Italy", I'd say the same thing!

It isn't a thread only for italy, it's a thread for everyone, and the bad words written here were against some situations that showed Italy and Italians as a bad thing...so, for the rest of the aspects, everyone it's free to decide, but it's only a joke!

I personally didn't have anything against Italy before the game on Tuesday - I actually only started cheering against them when I read some comments on here before the Germany vs. Italy game.. You know, the German fans were talking pretty nicely about it, saying they really want Germany to reach the final.. And some of the Italian fans were just saying stuff like "We're gonna make you cry", you know? Cheering for your team is fine, but goofing on the others isn't fine, at least that's my opinion.

My god; Cannavaro is really the best defender on the entire planet!

Buffon is class aswell; the only thing they lack is a scoring striker, because Toni is a real 'clubplayer' and Gilardino and DP aren't topclass strikers although the both do have class.

Still I think Italy are the team to beat at the moment and they will win the world cup.

yep, Cannavaro is great. IMO he and Pirlo are the two guys with the steadiest performance. But i think you shouldnt forget Zambrotta, he's really amazing, especially in the latest two matches!

FORZA ITALIA... back to the summit of the world game. Couldn't happen to a better bunch of team players. Totti is going to retire from international football holding the WORLD CUP in his hand....FORZAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!:laugh3:

What about German people in the stadium who whistled during our anthem and kept whistling every single time one of our players were touching the ball, and who were complaining when German players commited serious faults (which should have been rewarded with yellow card)...is this fair play?

And still I don't care because I know that not all German fans were like them (as German people in here have been kind and all), and I don't see why I should have want them to be beaten in the final if they made it through instead of us.

 

I know coldplatrix and he's always out of the lines for everything, he was proud and supporting his team being sure about the result. I'm not like him, I'm more calm and I knew it wouldn't have been that easy (as it actually was). But that was not a bashing of the German team :)
