Somebody I know got arrested for making a bomb...

Featured Replies

Somebody that was in my art class had his house raided and then was arrested by the police on Monday and they found a pipe bomb and other items of concern in the house. Now the newspapers said it wasn't intended to hurt anybody or group of people. But I asked why else would somebody make a bomb? He is not in jail because his mom paid $2500. He is not allowed to go near our school or grad/prom events. But still I am a little nervous somebody with who made a bomb is allowed to walk free. My mom was talking to the principle and he said that it actually was intended to be used and he is quite worried too.

But it has also got me thinking about the type of people who do these things. This guy was a loner, and any attempt to talk to him he would just give a really weird and confusing response. It was almost as if he wanted to isolate himself. What can you do with people like this? I grew really supsicious of him this year in art when I saw Nazi symbols on his art folder. Its just hard to understand people like that and I wonder why they don't get help. Whose responsibility is it? Should teachers recommend help to parents? What can us students do? Its just a really weird situation.

Sounds really scary. About the kid, I don't know. There are a few kids like him at my school who won't talk to anyone and if anyone was to do anything at my school (I hope that never happens) it would probably br one of them. And most of the kids at school know that.:\

I've made bombs and napalm before, but with groups of people, and used them in isolated fields.

When I read the topic title I thought it wasnt a big deal, but this kid obviously isnt a social bomb maker, especially if hes a loner who likes Nazi memorabilia.

There is definately something wrong with people like that, is like a paranoia. My best friend is a much tamer version of this guy, it appears. I bet this kid is the type who thinks that all people are fake leaches etc. and society is a whore, therefore he doesnt want to talk or know anybody. This type of thinking towards everyone (And if he had absolutely no friends, then it goes towards every single person) can only lead to a destructive nature. My best friend hates most people, well, so do I, but hes a bit more sick about it. His life was pretty much his girlfriend, but he has a few other friends now at least. If he didnt have a girlfriend, and I was his only friend who's been oversea's for the past 9 months, I can imagine how bored and frustrated he'd get, probably would've turned into a sick kind of person. His girlfriend kind of kept him sane I think, but before he met her, he was pretty much giving up on himself and everyone around him, and I can see how someone would get so fucked up.

social bomb makers? what the fuck?! careful with that...you don't know what everyone's intentions were in that group..social orrr practice!

anyway. we have had loads of bomb/weapon threats from grades 7-12 ... at least one every two months. A couple were serious (that means either explosive material or weapons were found/school evacuations). And we had a pyro maniac one year ...fires in the trash cans, in the football locker rooms, in certain classrooms.

and we had the ...the...the :uhoh: "uni-crapper" :uhoh: he would actually POO on the bathroom floors ..sometimes leave em there, sometimes smear em around..sometimes leave some in the hand dryers and it :uhoh: came out when people would turn em on. it was really sick and led to freakin bathroom monitors ! in the 12th grade!

these situations (deadly weapons and threats) aren't coming out of their own asses...each of these individuals has a "hero" (i.e...Hitler/Nazis) and some music too. (we learned in psychology class ..some case studies) that a common one IS Hitler/Nazis, listeing to like, death metal, Nirvana was a popular one...

it's really scary to me, just because I lived through some scary as hell threats where bombs were found JUST IN TIME. it made me sick to even go to school.

The schools really urged us to notify school officials of ANY suspicious things we see or hear. ANYTHING ..they kept a fair watch on certain kids and many situations were prevented...this made our school proud. to get rid of dangerous kids from a school.

I recommend this too. I have seen proof of prevented situations. It's not squeling when lives are saved, guys. No matter what anyone say! Like the hs Columbine..no one wants those things to happen again. it causes trauma like no other.

I'm sorry sniggirb/briggins (what is your name?!) I just am really heated about this situation.

With a bit of knowledge (use google duuur) and the right ingredients (how many houses DON'T have cleaning agents somewhere about?), everyone has the capability of making such products and more. Take your normal household bleach and ammonia based detergent, mix them together and you get potentially large quantities of toxic chlorine gas (similar to that used in WW1). And that's just the start.

Don't do this at home folks ;)

Er... my friend makes bombs. :laugh3: And he's obsessed with knives 'n stuff. O.o

he's a crazy mofo...

I thought that finding creative ways to make things explode or burn things was some sort of childhood rite of passage or something. You know, the whole "Whoa COOOOL" factor... like whenever they blow things up on Mythbusters.

But yeah, the neonazi loner making a pipebomb thing is scary. Good thing they caught him if he was really going to do any damage. As much as 9/11 was such a turning point, Columbine is equally branded into my memory...

But does he plan on hurting people?

"...and in other news today a fansite for the popular rock group 'Coldplay' was shut down today after the founder told the predominantly young members of the board how to make bombs using household products.

Coldplaying.com is also facing legal action from an angry mother who was given an ASBO after neighbours complained of explosions in her back garden. It was later revealed that her 15 year old son had been making these bombs and strapping them to the back of various cats that frequented the yard......"

;)

Oh that is in bad taste^^^^^

Well he certainly has attention now. But by his actions at school I don't think he was calling for attention. He just seemed confused and paranoid all the time.

My brother went through a stage where he liked big knives and fancy lighters (he never smoked- he just liked having fire handy) and stuff... he just got a kick out of freaking people out.

But in a weird way, it was a social thing for him.

yeah, its a hard situasion---- dont know... I cant talk to mcuh cos i dont know what is going on there.. I mean I can say that he maybe has a problem with his family, or with social life... but theres a lot of thing that could be happening on his life, his mind... i dunno.....

I want to make a bomb now. Sounds like fun really.
