🌙 COLDPLAY ANNOUNCE MOON MUSIC OUT OCTOBER 4TH 🎵

Is This Sort of Thing Normal?

I just saw an amazing concert by a band I like called Pilate.

That is, it was amazing up until the last song when some idiot thought it would be funny to spray pepperspray around the room. Everyone thought they were going insane at the sudden need to cough until they noticed the band were hacking too, along with the rest of the room. Needless to say the building was evacuated in a hurry. Not fun. I'm still coughing over an hour later.

I'm worried about the lead singer... he has a beautiful falsetto, and he got a nasty dose of the stuff. I hope it didn't mess up his voice- he was a real trooper and went on with the song for as long as he could.

But what I'm really worried about is my parents, (I'm stuck at home while I'm in college) who don't approve of my taste in music, and will see this as a sign that I shouldn't go to concerts at all.

So my question for those who actually make it out to gigs more often than me is does this sort of thing happen very often? Have you heard of it happening before?

^ :laugh3:

Too late for not telling... I woke Dad up with a coughing fit when I came in the house at about 2am last night. It's probably going to be in the paper tomorrow anyway, so they would have found out sooner or later.

No trouble yet... they seem to be taking a "the whole world's going to hell in a handbasket" approach.

That's awful, I can't believe we have to deal with such idiots that often! I hate it when some people can ruin such great moments and concerts!

When I was at the Coldplay gig at Crystal Palace back in June 2005, there were 4 or 5 drunk guys, pushing around and destroying the whole atmosphere. One of them even pushed me so that I fell down to the floor. Thank God it wasn't during Coldplay's performance (I think it was when Supergrass were on stage), otherwise it would have ruined everything! Security guards came about 15 minutes later and got them out, everyone in the audience was clapping :D

You get idiots popping up at random things everywhere you go. I don't think that happens too much at gigs. I mean I haven't gone to club shows or anything yet but the concerts I go to I've only seen pot being smoked or alcohol, nothing worse.

As for your parents not liking your taste in music that really is too bad. My dad likes U2 alot and he doesn't mind my music which is cool.

But bringing drugs to gigs, or any public venue is just wrong. I mean, there are asmahtics (sp?) around the places. What if they are just trying to to enjoy the show, and then they have to leave because of fools who can't even have the decency to take their tokes outside.

If there were asmahtics in that crowd..they could have really been screwed...maybe even died...just because some jerk sprayed that shit

Some idiots who don't want to be at the concert ruining it for everybody.

Them Bastards, should be banned from concerts and made to refund everybody's tickets.

The worse concert in terms of crowd was dirty pretty things, lots of crowd surfters (by the same group of 5, gone are the days when the security kicked you out), and one caught my glasses bending the left "fork" though 180 degree, and making my lense fall out. Thank god i found my lense and pushed the fork back into it's right place :)

^ Oh yeah, that's another thing - I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone on this board now, but I HATE crowd surfers. I'm usually always standing in the front row and I hate crowd surfers hitting my head and hurting me and the people standing next to me really badly. There's nothing wrong about two or three crowd surfers once in a while, but sometimes there are guys who do this over and over again - at the Oasis gig, I saw one guy doing it THREE FUCKIN TIMES - he was banned because the security guards noticed it as well.

When I was at the IOW Festival a couple of weeks ago, you could smell drugs in the air, but I suppose that is to be expected!!

Also, just before Coldplay came on, someone started messing with a laser pen, and was being pointed at the stage - not the nicest of things to have shone at your face!!

I know, when the manager said what it was, I was like "haven't people died from pepper spray before?" Scary stuff. I don't have asthma, but I am allergic to pepper, and I was afraid my throat was closing up for a bit there- and I didn't have any Benadryl with me. Very Scary.

I hope the cops get whoever the clown was who did it.
