i watched it so closely and slowly in tv.. it doesnt seem like a real penalty.. Grosso could have passed the australian player but he didn't want to :)

In my opinion, Grosso "made sure" he fell over Neill, but Neill can't have any complaints because he went to ground when he didn't need to.;)

I also think that even though Aus played well, Italy deserved to win because they were by far the more potent force and Schwarzer had had to make some stunning saves.

Shame, but true. Australia can go home with their heads held high, though.

And the Gold Medal for Diving goes to Italy.

That's th exact same thing I'm saying since two days ago :)

The bottom line is Italy didn't deserve to win that game. But they did so good luck to them

I think it's both players fault.

I'm not sure it's a penalty... but now think about the ref that has to decide in one second. Not easy at all.

I don't know why people talk so much about the penalty and forget the red card.

That wasn't deserved and obviously changed everything.

It seems some people are afraid of Italy. If Italy is not that good like some say I don't get why you're afraid.

 

I think Italy deserved to win. Yes.. Australia did good and they tried their best... but Italy is better.

there's a difference between the red card and the penalty.

he could have sent of one of the aussie players earlier who he gave a yellow card to if he wanted to 'make it fair' or even it up.

giving a false penalty in the last 8 seconds, is stupid and ridiculous, as aus had no chance to equalize afterwards, as it had been full time.

 

i just wish it had gone to extra time or penalty shoot outs, if italy had won that way it would have been a genuine result of the true winner, whichever way it went.
