Perfectionist?

Featured Replies

thread revival!

i am a perfectionist and i'm sure i've mentioned this before. after a while, a lot of people who get to know me ask "btw kathy, what's our starsign?" and once they know i'm a virgo they usually sigh, laugh then reply "we knew it, you're a complete perfectionist". [i don't believe in starsigns etc btw]

personally, i find the term very off putting as i know it is impossible for anything to be perfect so to be labelled a perfectionist makes me think i'm striving for the impossible.

but that's not to say i'm not one, as i am - in everything, and i mean everything. i'm aware it irritates my family but i can't change that part of me, i simply can't walk by a tilted frame without straightening it, leave my room messy for more than 30 mins when in those 30 mins i was probably thinking "hm, i should put that away", walk past a pile of clothes without folding them, not opening the first page of my new lecture notebook then writing the heading which for some reason always looks crap then tearing it out. in fact, i think every writing book i have doesn't have it's original first page.

ah well

Have you been tested for OCD??:P

maybe you should be tested as you seem to have an obsessive compulsiveness with OCD ;)

Predictions are generally made beforehand!!:P

Or is there a different system down under??

i made a mistake in that post but it seemed obvious enough as to what i was saying - which is why it was edited, besides what kind of perfectionist would i be if i let a tense error slip :shame:

A lapsed one??:P

It's been a year and I'm still a bit of a perfectionist. :dozey:

But I'm not as bad anymore. I can handle a little chaos now.

I'm a perfectionist. Like... major perfectionist. I am never good enough. When I don't succeed at something I start this whole period of ... self-loathing... basically I just implode.

And I also think I have OCD... I should get tested. I can't sleep if my room's not neat.

I think perhaps I do have OCD. I was cooking stirfry the other day I chopped up the chicken and put all the chicken strips in perfect rows on my chopping board. :anxious:

I just orgainsed my new perfect study area...

Ha! Nothing can distract me now!

...those books are looking a little wonky, as is the calculator... :wreck:

Maybe this thread needs to be renamed the "OCD thread"!!:stunned:
