It's like on an old version of Microsoft Word, I'd type in my name Judy, and it'd say it's a typo or autocorrect it to Judith :sad:

and i hate telling people my middle name. (Mercedes).People always say "like the car?" Once my friend said "mercedes! HAHA!" and my other friend goes "OMG. That's such a stripper name" and when I told her it was my middle name she was so embarrassed that she didn't talk to me the rest of the day...

well my last name is gardner...and my middle name is rose....so people always connect the two and laugh at it when they find out

My name is awfully plain. Amanda. Last name as well. My brother's name is Ely, like E-lie. But a lot of people say or spell his name Eli, like El-li. Other then that my family's name is pretty straight forward. My friend's name is Clayo though. Lot's of people say Cleo or Chole a lot of the time when they read it wron. But it's said just how it's spelt.

Well in my case I was meant to be named Károly... which is a common Hungarian name but not here where I was born and live, and it sounds like a girl's name... :rolleyes: fortunately it didn't happen so I'm really Carlos, but you all know me here by Charles. :D

i have a friend from russia and she gets the same problem with her last name too. it's 14 letters long and nearly all the teachers can't pronounce it correctly' date=' so they always ask her how to say it. she got really bothered with it, especially at graduation when the teacher had to say Daria "T." instead of Tverdohklebova. :\[/quote']

 

 

Here at my school, a few weeks before graduation, the principal called in students with names they didn't know how to pronounce. They had the student tell them precisely how to say their names so that they would not mess up come time for graduation ceremony.

 

So there was none of that replacing last names with initials! That's rude... because parents, friends and family are there to see their children graduate and this is a special ceremony for everyone going to see that person. The least they could do is learn to pronounce.

 

 

My name is Kara and people always spell it with a "C" even though I spell it out for them. It particularly pissed me off when I got a basketball season ticket and the card I had to show all season with my name on was spelt with a C. I guess people have some kinda thing in their head that a car is spelt with C therefore so must Kara. grrrrr.

 

 

gah! there are so very many ways to spell my name, that everytime someone has to and they decide not to ask, they just have the weirdest ways to spell it.
