July 27, 200620 yr Author Fine, forget I ever mentioned youtube... my point was that I had a problem with the general ATTITUDE expressed both on the youtube thing and in that you can't vote for Muse and be a Radiohead fan statement and ones following it - not any specific point. I mentioned youtube because I didn't want you to think I was aiming my statements specifically at you- when in fact I'm extremly grateful for all of the cool stuff you post around here and for doing the cup thing because it's been fun. I DO however still stand by my statement that Radiohead fans remind me a bit of Trekkies with their stubborn, scarily irrational degree of devotion. (For the sake of full disclosure this is coming from a convention-going LotR geek- we tend to think of trekkies as a form of pond scum that give honest geeks a bad rep.) edit: That's a cool list! And oos is the best. *nods* why (only) Radiohead fans? i'm fucking fed up with this Radiohead fans are bad guys talk the problem is that i've met/seen many stubborn U2, Oasis, Coldplay and REM fans for example on several forums, including this one... i'm highly suggesting to end the prejudices, because they are unfair agianst many people IMO. otherwise, you can call the Coldplay or U2 fans as well stubborn and generalize them as you did, because they do exist
July 27, 200620 yr I agree, you guys should go check out Interference. Go into the 'Everything You Know Is Wrong' part of the forum. Some U2 fans are fucking scary.... and reaaaaaaaaally opinionated. But then again, you get that EVERYWHERE. I've seen really opinionated, assholey fans of the freakin' Arctic Monkeys, for crying out loud! Same goes for Coldplay, or Oasis, or The Libertines even. You get it everywhere, definately not just Radiohead fans. I think the Radiohead fan comparison comes from the fact that most people on Coldplaying happen to be really big Radiohead fans as well, that's the demographic. Not TOO many obsessed U2 fans (:uhoh:). So maybe... well, I don't know.

Nik is the typical Radiohead fan that has been described on this board many times before. and i'm sorry to say that after you've done such a good job of this world cup. overreacted reply is yours for Christ's sake, Nigel. i do respect other people's opinions (although i still don't understand how a radiohead fan can prefer muse over radiohead? ... haha but it seems it's only me) and only because i said Muse suck + you have no taste in music? both comments were sarcastic IMO i don't know how would you act if your band let's say Muse would losing in the similar poll let'sa say against...Kaiser Chiefs or Arctic Monkeys? although this competition isn't about who is the best, it's about who do you like more...but still, i would be really disappointed if Muse would beat RH in any poll... i didn't say anything when Beatles beat RH, because i do understand why did they beat RH. but seeing Muse beating Radiohead is very painful...and you know why

IMPRESSIVE! that thread is my source of new music :smug: i've discovered many new, great bands thanks to AtEase (:kiss:) I have to say, when I look at this list I see that the people on this forum have a good taste in music. But, Dark Side Of The Moon should be the number one! :D
