Favorite Coldplay concert memory/story

Featured Replies

My first Coldplay concert was Feb.23rd of this year in Freedom Hall. I had anticipated it for a long time, so I got my girlfriend tickets for Christmas. Well, apart from being an amazing show, and talking to Peter Searcy, we had a yellow balloon pop right on top of us during our favorite song. I still have some confetti that I hung on to. It was one of those fond memories. Anyone have any stories?

oh oh July 1st Rod Laver Arena :D anyone that went there knows what I mean, every second was amazing.

BEST NIGHT EVER amazing memories too.

I went to Brisbane Ent. Centre 23rd and 24th June. Everything was memorable, but I really love when Chris sings Fix You. I love it in concert and it's such a beautiful and powerful song. Gave me goosebumps.

My favourite part was after my third show, meeting the guys in real life.

But if you want a moment from the show, ummm....I went to three so it's hard to choose. You know what, it was probably the first moment at the first show when the lights went out and the countdown started on the screen, when they walked out I had to choke back tears. Apart from that, probably Clocks and Can't Get You Out Of My Head at the second show were the best.

Oh and I have some of that gold confetti too :D

At one of the earls court nights, chris and I popped a yellow balloon toghether, so to speak.

One of my fav memories, was hearing Trouble in Perth, just cos it was such a nice surprise to hear it and it was my last Coldplay gig and I hadn't heard it live before.

Arriving on site at River Rave in Boston in 2001. We were late, but we made it in time to hear 'Shiver' soaring out over the open-air venue. I'll never forget that rush, and hearing it always takes me right back there! Brilliant! Gives me chills just posting it!

My first coldplay concert was the toronto show to be released on dvd later this year :D

well,

i was at the show on july 5th....and I was like shatting myself when the countdown began....I was first in line that day...so I had been waiting longer than anyone - over 7 hours...

Nehu...i've mentioned this already, but during In My Place, when Chris went running around the back....I kept yelling out "Guy" at Guy (funnily enough)....and he was looking at Chris in the distance...then he looked down at me, smiled and nodded....

Well, that was quite the amazing for me...that and being less than a foot away from touching Chris' hand...

I also have some of the glittery confetti stuff from Yellow.

I've only been to one show so far, it was March 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio. Had an amazing time, and nothing compares to seeing them climb onstage for the first time. Also, I love the Beatles, and hearing Tommorrow Never Knows before they came out had me whipped into a frenzy. It was flipping amazing!

^ You and I were at the same show hehe.

that we were!! i've got nothing to compare it with....but it was a really good show....I've been listenin 2 all kinds of coldplay songs...and i realised that in the scientist...after we did the chant thing (he sings then we sing)...when they went back into the song for a bit, he sung a tune that was what he would've learnt when doing the scientist backwards!!!!! - ultra cool....

P.S. The Scientist was an awesome memory as well folks.

hahaha, at earls court when chris ran backstage at the end of in my place, it took him ages to come back for fix you, there was king of a gap, so i did the same thing and started yelling "guy, guy" at him and he smiled and nodded then as well! thats hilarious you did the same thing

i've only seen them once, in Hong kong a few weeks ago. I have to agree that the intro (with the digital numbers in the background) gave me goosebumps - don't know why but I suppose all that anticipation over so many years finally letting go... I had not read any reviews about any coldplay concerts on this tour so it was a real suprise and treat to see this (although I had heard the audio of a slew of shows)

Another one is when Chris twirls that lamp in Fix You... then the crash when he releases. I saw the clip from the Glastonbury show last yr... unreal.

I've been to two Coldplay shows. The first was Bonner Springs, KS, which was absolutely amazing, and entire night of magic and awe. The show closest to my heart was the more recent Omaha, NE show, where I live. I'd have to say there were three amazing moments from that show. The first was when the Scientist was played...not only did I love the rendition, but it's my favorite Coldplay song and I started crying during it...I dunno, just the combination of the visuals, music and holding my girlfriends hand. Then directly after that, when they took out the cameras, I was screaming desperately at Guy, who was in front of me, cos we were in the front row. He looked to a girl behind me as he was getting ready to toss it, then looked right at me, saw how crazy I must have looked, cos he gave me a good smile and a chuckle, then tossed it right to me. I swear, that had to have been the biggest adrenaline rush in my entire life, I couldn't belive, and I still have the camera itself...haha, i told Walgreens I wanted to keep it. Lastly, Fix You was amazing, simply because I was listening to that song when my mom called me and told me my dad had passed away (he had prostate cancer), so it had some very obvious meaning for me.

Mine was on July 2nd of this year. Simply magical. Words cannot express how amzing it was.

Hey there, I just saw this was your 1st post, so welcome!!! That is so cool about the camera...I was dying to get one, but they only gave out 1 camera at the concert I went to... you wouldn't have the pics on it to show us, would you? I'd understand if you didn't want to, of course, but I've been searching for the pics in one of these cameras for ages now.

Once again, welcome!!

August 2005

My first Coldplay concert last August in Philadelphia..."Fix You" brougt me to tears, a moment I'll never forget...absolutely awesome show...seen twice since and loved every minute of every show!

For me it's got to be July 5th, Reebok Stadium, Bolton. It was an amazing night, the filming of the 'Fix You' video just added to an already superb evening, (We got to hear 'Fix You' twice!) It was probably the best concert I've ever been to. Every time I see the video for 'Fix You', it reminds of a great night.

Ooo, I like this thread!

I saw them in San Diego on august 26 ( almost a year ago! ) for the first time and well my favorite memories form that concert where that they played AROBTTH, amsterdam(Chris forgot the lyrics at the begining, he had to start over, lol) and Green eyes! I nearly cried in those moments! The whole concert was incredible! It was a fantastic night , just thinking about it makes me happy.:D

I saw the guys in Toronto on August 2, 2005 for the first time, but just this March 22, 2006 (seems so far away..) I saw them again which was more memorable cos I had a friend come along. My most fond moment of the concert has got to be Yellow and the encore!

My friend was urging me to leave our seats and go down even closer than we already were to the gate/barricade. She was all "C'mon, this is Coldplay- you don't want to miss your opportunity do you?" And she was dead right. So, we left our seats when the lights went out as everyone chanted "Coldplay!" and ended up literally 3 metres away from Jonny :nice:

And it was Fix You. Actually seeing Chris with the orb and swinging it made me feel like i was watching the Fix You vid unfold right in front of me!!!

Simply amazing.

I wanna do it all over again :wacky:

I saw coldplay on July 1st this year and it was an unbelievable night!!! Whenever i watch footage from other coldplay concerts i get all tingley and it makes me want to be there on that night again....it was insane
