Bono has been named the most influential pop star of the last 25 years, in a new survey.

 

The U2 frontman tops an MTV poll commissioned to mark the 25th anniversary of the channel. Over 4000 people are understood to have been questioned in the survey.

 

Michael Jackson and Madonna came second and third in the poll, which has been illustrated by an image placing the top 15 stars superimposed as royalty on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

 

Kurt Cobain, Prince, Eminem, Kylie Minogue, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Sir Elton John, Beyonce Knowles, Robbie Williams, Pete Doherty, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears also feature in the image.

 

Gwen Stefani, Adam Ant, Pink and the Spice Girls are amongst the other music icons to feature in the Top 25. MTV's 25th anniversary takes place tomorrow, August 1.

lmfaooooo. I know. Well, he certainly hasn't influenced ME. But then again, I'm sure a lot of people aren't influenced by Bono or Peter Doherty either... so it's all relative *shrugs*

Bono and U2 have been around forever, so he's definitely got SOME influence. Plus he's got that whole AIDS and Make Poverty History campaign going on. Unless they're only referring to music.
