How can the Israeli crisis be resolved?

Featured Replies

you seem to not understand a ceasefire is short term.

do you think a ceasefire would last? do you think hezbollah wouldnt rebuild and attack again? please answer this.

I do understand that a ceasefire is short term, and that a ceasefire wouldn't last. Maybe it would only last two weeks, then the fighting would start again. And when it starts again, I'll be screaming for another ceasefire. But at least for two weeks the killing would have stopped.

Hezbollah would rebuild, but I don't care about them, I care about the civilians, the ones who've had their homes destroyed and familes killed. They need to rebuild. They need to bury their dead, and they need the rest of their lives. They're the important ones. Help them, and Hezbollah will wither.

If you keep bombing the Lebanese nation Hezbollah will become stonger.

Sit down and bargain

All you, like grizzled old foxes

We’ll wall you up in a splendid palace

With food, wine, good beds and a good fire,

Provided that you discuss, negotiate

For our and your children’s lives

May all the wisdom of the universe

Converge to bless your minds

And guide you in the maze

But outside in the cold we will be waiting for you.

The army of those who died in vain,

We of The Marne, we of Montecassino,

Treblinka, Dresden and Hiroshima

And with us will be

The leprous and the people with trachoma

The disappeared ones of Buenos Aires

Dead Cambodians and dying Ethiopians

The Prague negotiators

The bled dry of Calcutta

The innocents slaughtered in Bologna

Heaven help you if you come out disagreeing

You’ll be clutched tight in our embrace,

We are invincible because we are the conquered

Invulnerable because already dead.

We laugh at your missiles.

Sit down and bargain

Until your tongues are dry

If the havoc and the shame continue

We’ll drown you in our putrefaction

'Song of Those Who Died In Vain.' - Primo Levi

the civilians are less important than hizbollah in the sense of international politics. i'm anti war normally, but if israel has a ceasefire its like removing a cancer, but leaving the job half done and allowing the cancer to spread. the operation was futile.

that is the situation for israel. they do not want to kill civilians, but they have no other choice if they want to ensure their survival.

You're getting a medical condition confused with war, the two are subtly different. I appreciate its a metaphor, or maybe a similie. But I don't believe it for a second.

If "the civilians are less important than hizbollah in the sense of international politics", then international politics is wrong.

If Israel really didn't want to kill civilians they could stop bombing them now, right now. They do have a choice. Bomb or not bomb.

its not that simple. its a war they dont wanna kill innocent people, but they have to chose between killing their innocent people or lebanons, and its only right that they do what they have to, to protect their citizens.

but thats the thing' date=' not everyone at the same time will have that view, there will always be leaders that are war mongers. humanity cant change, it would be like saying we could change to have no more love, or hatred. its apart of us, always has been from the start"back here on planet earth, war is a part of humanity just as much as love, fear and hate. its a part of humanity, it sucks but life sucks, its how the world works. there will always be war, from all kinds of different politicaly views, far left, far right, it makes no difference at some poin they have and will again cause war. its the world we live in, its reality. kinda like how we will all die. im not happy about it, but its the way the universe works. you cant eliminate it, like you cant eliminate love or hate or fear or violence. when one side wants war, the only realistic solution is war. you can have a war or a slaughter. now why would israel chose slaughter instead of fighting? so there are other options, but the best option for the nations security would be war when the other army is attacking. if i were to attack you and fight you, would you just stand there and take it or fight back and try to protect yourself? its no different, they are being attacked and have one realistic option for their safety, to fight, they wouldnt have to resort to war if they werent attacked first." .[/quote']

I agree... Humanity can't change... We're worth than animals... We think we're over animals, over death... but what are we??? nothing, we're nothing!... just some small things which are fighting to survive although we know we will die...

We're weak... and we're weaker ever...

If all nations had that view, Hitler wouldn't have done things like that because of his viewpoints. Brilliant.

Who say war's a part of humanity. Well fuck that, humanity can change.

It hasnt changed at all in the past six thousands years of civilisation. You think its going to change now?

The only thing thats changed is we can kill alot more people, more quickly and for less energy.

Are you suggesting that a group of innocent civilians must die, either Lebanese or Israeli, and its been decided that the group who must go are the Lebanese?

Cos by that logic, the Lebanese also have the same right to chose so they have the right to bomb Israel.

That'll never work.

to resolf this conflict i don't know, hmm blowing up the military forces in both sides, killing hebolah, isrelian terrorist.

war may be a solution but it shouldn't be...people live peacefully in the US or Europe or anywhere else, because strong/integrated countries are ruling these places... middle east has a very complex structure in itself...also it has oil - which is i think the real reason behind all of those wars: not capturing a few soldiers,etc..-

and as long as oil is there and as long as there is no strong confederacy in the mid-east or near, wars and crisis are inevitable...

i mean by a confederacy that 3-4 strong and rooted countries ( Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Syria or Saudi Arabia maybe i dont know) coming together and forming a deterrent power towards america or another powerful country in the future... with Russian support there will be a real power in the area...

Explain more?

Someone needs to stop either side from fighting with each other...

yes force would be the only thing to do, but if someone more powerful than the 2 waring parties took charge, and told both of them if you fight each other regardless of whom said what, and who did what they are in charge. Once this is in place I would force these parties to get on .

Given this sitution I guess it would take some time up to 40 years... but once those 40 years or so has passed people will be mixing and getting on and wonder what all the fuss was about before hand...

israel faced with a choice, destroy hezbollah. and in that choice its israel's people or lebanons. its life, you dont seem to be in touch with reality.

it would take alot longer then 40 years. all these people grew up brainwashed that all the jews want ot eat you and take your land, its going to be hard to get rid of that view on the jews.

I don't think Hezbollah can be destroyed unfortunately. :(

I think the entire world is in for a rude awakening soon.... scary shit I tell ya.

Dont scare me Camille... I really want to have some babies before I die...

I need to add more information about my solution...

A firm rule would be needed... however it would encourage people to work and live together in harmony...

Firstly my idea for a Peace enforcement force would be placed into the region, this force will ensure no one fights each other.

I will then go on to impose a rule for 40 - 60 years... with no tolerance for violence of any sort for whatever reason. I will make sure people live side by side, and I will have incentives for people to mix.

People at school will be educated to respect each others views...

anyone that tries to stir up hatred of any type will be placed... in a centre of reducation whereas a programme of total acceptance... will be based there....

I know its not nice, however think about it. It would be for the greater good for tomorrows children...

Thats either what Anakin tried to do in Star Wars or Saddam in Iraq, but I'm not going to rise to it :)
