Hey guys. What, in your opinion, is the best version of Don't Panic?

 

Actually i'm just looking for different takes on the song, such as the AOL session which featured the harmonica. Sadly, it's not downloadable. If you guys come up with versions other than the original and the Blue Room version, could you give me links on where to get them?

The Live 2003 version of Don't Panic includes the harmonica, too.

 

And I like the Parachutes version most.

Will...I think you can find a topic about AOL session(You mean the acoustic session?) then you will find it.

Actually my favorite Don't Panic version is at Isle Of White festival. Jonny also had a solo to sing. And Chris added some lyrics in the song about World Cup.

What has the title of that song got to do with the song itself??

There's a line that goes '...questions of science, science and progress...', but what's it got to do with it??

Interesting, inside the sleeve you can see a line that oges 'The Scientist is Dan' - who is that Dan??

I always thought that the reason that song is called the Scientist is because it's about a person who is trying to look at an emotional situation and deconstruct it and make sense out of it like one would with an experiment. Ultimately it's an unsatisfactory way to look at love, life etc.

i simply love the blue room version love willing drumming part!

I prefer The Blue Room version : we can better hear Chris and I love this echo !

 

But in the Parachutes version, the last solo sounds clearer, which i think is better...

as for a live version, i love the new way they play it with johnny singing.where can i get the Glasto 02' version ?

I like the live version at 'Splendor in the Grass' best, followed by their performance at the Brixton Academy.
