RunForTheHills
These are lyrics for a song that I have yet to record properly. If I were ever to make an album, this would be the closer - its probably the most atmospheric song I've ever done in all my 8 months of trying to make music. Its called "The Edge" but the name might change in time. The Edge - Semy Ingle We sail the seven seas, together 'Till our journey is complete When will we reach the place, where, the water flows out into space We’re falling off the edge x4 The speakers tell us how, to live here They want us underground We’re living in a world, where tomorrow Is the best day of the year Each, time, we fall into a black hole there’s another On the other side There, was, ether flowing through us, before we saw Space and time We’re falling off the edge (multitracked) x8 Condensation on your window pane See the snow, it's getting cold again Seeking shelter from the rain again [Help is on the way.] x4

Fixed
I had a little boogy last night and quite liked what I came up with so decided to post to MySpace. Not perfect and not very long at all. Sorry for the few mistakes - not figured out how to keep my composure whilst hands are excessively sweating. Anyone that wants to add drums, bass and guitar and vocals for me get in touch lol. Don't worry if you think it's crap, I'm still learning and any piano experts out there would be appalled at my technique. http://www.myspace.com/paikeamusic

All three tracks are ideas that you could definitely expand on, my favourite is the third one, since thats the sort of sound i'm going for at the moment. You're definitely not crap, you're better than me anyway. Anyway, I like the melodies you've got going there, and its definitely my kind of music ;) When I get back to uni I'm hoping to finish up on 2 or three tracks (because thats where I've left my keyboard for now) but this is an instrumental of one of the tracks I'm working on: Anchored (unfinished) Instrumental Its long (7 mins) but my favourite part of the song starts at , if you find the first bit boring. Its also not perfect quality, theres distortion and clicks near the end, and of course my piano playing skills are no where near good. What part of the UK are you from by the way, Fixed? Fixed
Thanks mate, much appreciated. Must add more to the first 1 when I get a minute, I've got that 'riff' and some lyrics for the chorus and that's it. I got the sound for the last one by turning the reverb right up and holding my foot down on the sustain pedal. I'm hoping to get some guitar effects and amps for my piano, since the thought of learning the actual guitar is far too scary to contemplate, so I'll cheat instead. I'm from Liverpool by the way. And no worries about the cheating, because I do that too :P There's a short song i did a few weeks back in which i made piano riffs sound like electric guitars by distorting them. There's a bit of strumming going on in the background, but thats pretty basic stuff: http://www.sendspace.com/file/g043i4 Just add the right amounts of reverb and distortion and it sounds pretty good. PS - I finished uploading the song in my last post.
Fixed
I just listened to your Anchored Demo, I really like it a lot. What software did you use to put it together?
RunForTheHills
Thanks, glad you liked it. I used Adobe Audition CS3, but really, what you hear is what was recorded on the keyboard itself. I'll be mixing it properly when i get back to uni hopefully.
improvtom103
http://www.youtube.com/user/improvtom103 I have a series on YouTube called Tom's Tune Time. It's just me playing my acoustic guitar. So far, I have 11 videos, 6 covers (including Green Eyes), and 5 originals. And I'm forming a band with a friend of mine...we're calling ourselves Metatron after an amazing song by The Mars Volta...so I'm sure we'll wind up recording those originals in the near future. Hope you all enjoy!
StephenG
I wrote this as a knee jerk reaction to hearing Losing my religion, so don't give me any credit! (free verse) Honey, dry your dreams away, cause their gone, They have been since I said, What I did, and It's too late, to undo, what we did, or what we are. Wish upon a random star, Cause I had a dream, MLK had a dream too, yea, And its not like mine, mines selfish, i've got no spine. but at least its honest, and it's achievable, But like Martins, it won't come true, oh no. I said I'd believe nothing, no nothing, till i've seen it with my own two eyes, Yeah I said, I'll believe nothing till it curls up and dies, like love from above. I'm sorry, I'm quick to anger, I'm still sorry, Sorry about all the lies, But I told you, If you leave me, Darling, you'd leave me in a state, So wait, Cause I can change, Heavens, I know, I know I've said it before but I mean it. You've showed me the damage, yea ive seen it too. And it fills me with shame, but im only human. I'm only primal, I'm only normal, I got no common sense, Not that it's that common, But I guess thats an excuse, It's not a good one, But it's something, I'm something. And my backs on the wall, If you don't catch me, then I guess I fall, But I don't care, Whats to care, Saved by the milk of human kindness, your kindness, Cause it's bringing me around, It's white noise, its no other sound, It's a cry for help, A distant yelp, I prayed for what to do next, He sent back no help, cause hes waiting, yeah hes waiting for me. --------------- Sounded better in my head... with a riff but its far too long, anyway there it is. rastelin
remember me, I am the freshness, the ripe apple in the cool breeze, touching your lips giving you the grip as you drift into bliss, past the storms, that churn in the east, awaiting the Night's sinister light, worshipped by the friends we call men.. A seering heart, is slowing falling still, past the steeples of the churches where men begged for forgiveness again and again.. Thats enough... PEACE TO ALL and COLDPLAY!!! DON't stop... rastelin
Call me what you will, the last twillight, the first dawn, the process of thought, that manifestates the words I apply to the stretch, as I sit, staring still, into the transparency of colors, I find more lines to fill, a beacon, that guides the lines to the paralells, and the contours that apply the angles to the edges of the ridges, where the roughness draggs the winds blowing from the gales laughter, as we entertain such notions, apeasing the God's you know the ones that have worn off the faces in our times, as we pilot our technology into the madness of the eyes that reflect back to a stale yet grey face that stares deep yet scared into a field of stars, seeing the serpents and heroes fighting for glory for eternity once more... And more, and more and more... PEACE
