it records every sound that comes from your soundcard.... so when you record.. make sure there wont be any other noises....

i hope this helps you... at least until you found a real audio ripper... i am looking for sth like that too...

Audacity.

It's free without leaving any watermarks on the tracks, set the audio stream playing, hit record and you will record it from your sound card. I used it to record myspace tracks many times

Dave, is that the Audacity 1.3 BETA ?? and if it is, does it have any things the old 1.2.4 doesnt have ? any glitches ?

That's Audacity 1.2.3.

I can't see any problems with it, I know how it works so why upgrade?

yea ive learned the basics of 1.2.4. myne just looked different....

I have a question about recording digitally. Every time I do, it records fine and I set all the settings right, but there's an echo. Any insight on how I can fix it? Thanks. :D

That echo might be due to you having a microphone turned on, try turning your microphone off.

I'm using a laptop with an internal microphone... I tried to turn down the volume but no success, still an echo. :c

Damn. Well, thanks anyway. I'll ask my brother if he knows anything. :]

audacity

I installed it and it looks like my settings are ok but I can set it to stereo setting like you have in the screenshot. All I have are line in, rear mic, and mic. and none of them record...what the heck is wrong?? I am trying to record from myspace

Try opening your volume control settings, then going to Options > Properties and select RECORDING. Then choose check off Stereo Mix if it's not already done, then hit OK. Select the check box under Stereo Mix and then you can record with a program like VanRecord.

If that doesn't work, I don't know. :/

Alternatively, since you're trying to get a song from MySpace, you could get MySpace MP3 Gopher. I've never used it so I don't know how it works, but I do know it exists. :]

MySpace MP3 Gopher is currently broken :)

I don't have the option to check stereo..just line in, rear mic, and microphone
