Arabic T-shirt sparks airport row

Featured Replies

I never have flipped on my belief's, ive ALWAYS stated the goverment does bad thing we dont know about behind closed doors, torture, murder and you DENY it, we've talked about this before.

the truth is every goverment breaks the laws, they kill and torture to get what they want.

Yeah someone does need their meds, you keep forgetting you've acted before like our goverment does not do this, in other threads too.:laugh3: now go take the meds. because you are the one infact switching their beliefs.

You were the biggest supporter of this Administration.. now all of a sudden you're opposed to Bush and his policies. lol I don't think I have ever switched sides... but whatever!!

---back to topic..

so did they end up making this guy flip his shirt inside out or what? This sounds like something they did to this guy in high school because his shirt said 'F-you... ' I could propbably understand that because, hey.. its school. Its distacting from learning... but, on an airplane..?? I think this is ridiculous.... if they were cleared by security like everyone else before boarding the plane.. then they should be allowed to sit on the plane, with their shirt and let them fly in peace....

this is just another misguided soul.. (the one who was offended) -- like the millions of people who think Springsteen's 'Born in The USA' is a patriotic song.... or Lennon's 'Imagine' is a peaceful song....

sad.

anyone who thinks their goverment does not do secret things like torture or arresting innocent citizens is a idiot. its not common practice but it happens. the media never reports on it though.

from where did you now that?surly from media can show you right and wrong and can whashing your brian and showing you whats true,

show you whats the goverment secrets so goverment alerting media like what happened to journalist thats make media afried from goverment and dont telling us true

finaly media must be free

This is rather depressing. I'm not exactly an outspoken opponent of the war...

Honestly, this isn't even a war issue. This is simply free speech. So what the shirt offends a few people. This is a violation of the first amendment, and should not happen...ugh.

Its not a war issue, but under the current climate of fear, wearing a t-shirt with arabic writing on it could be akin to shouting fire in a crowded theatre, which is the vaguely agreed limit of the first Amendment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shouting_fire_in_a_crowded_theatre

but the article clearly states how this message could be misconstrued...... was it not the same slogan used during WW2 or something like that?? I haven't gone back to look at the article.
