...if you wanted a friend to know that you're there for them?

 

I'm having a friend who's going through rough times at the moment. I just found out that he didn't manage to get into the university he wanted to and he's that type of person who doesn't want to talk to anyone when something bad happens. He lives abroad so I depend on him coming online but in times like these, he probably won't show up the next couple of days or even weeks.

 

Anyway, there is a special bond between us when it comes to music. We share music - he shares his, I share mine. He likes Coldplay, but doesn't know any of the unreleased songs, so I want to send him one of the b-sides to tell him "No matter what happens, no matter if you want to talk to me or not, I'm here, thinking about you!"

 

I thought "Careful where you stand" would be the perfect choice - what would you do? I'm not talking about cheering someone up (you'd need a happy song for that), I'm talking about letting someone know how much they mean for you!

it's hard to choose......maybe fix you....but i think it's too sad.....

Yeah, and I need a b-side! I definitely want a special song you can't hear on every album, you know?

See You Soon or Brothers and Sisters would be my choice

"See You Soon" would be my second choice, too.. I've been listening to both "See you soon" and "Careful where you stand" the past hour now and I can't decide.. "Careful where you stand" kinda means more to me and brings up a certain feeling in me, but I'm afraid there's too much FEELING in it, you know what I mean? That it might be too much..

only a suggestion though. i hope your friend feels better. he must've had built up expectations and is feeling really unworthy, but give him time...and a cp song to help speed the process :nice:

i realy like "moses & crest of waves " a lot.......nowadays.....but theres also..."life is for living, ..............i dunno how to choose from all the b'sides ,:lol:

I chose "Careful where you stand" in the end, just to mention the deep bond and connection and all, but now that I think about it, just for the SITUATION where he feels bad, I should have picked 'See You Soon'.. But well, can't change it now, they're all great songs, aren't they? :)
