And did you know the boys were raised in Hellerup (or nearby) which is an upperclass neighborhood in Copenhagen, The school they attended has also been attended by Danish princes.

 

 

Also, if you live in Copenhagen you could actually see the guys walking around sometime. they've been spotted out and about before. I think in Scandinavia no one is really treated like a celebrity. I hear that in Iceland people don't care. No one bothers Bjork except tourists and that's not too often. People have seen Jonas walking down the street, at the metro and even locked eyes with him. So jealous :dead:

 

Anyway, back to Silas Graae. Apparently he dated some chick from a TV studio a while back. Anyone know anything about that? Ok, I'm done. Oh, and someone told me his sister was named Laura. That's all I've got to contribute about Mew's drummer Silas today. Anyone else wanna have a go at it?

Also, instead of a remix (too much legality and blah blah... ) I recorded myself singing Start. I did it with the music singing along to Jonas's voice but I couldn't hear myself. I have a bad mic on this comp so there's static. I want to post it though :stunned: as awful as I'm sure I sound. :\

Yea, I thought so too. I think she was a member of the swirlies. A band they have on every album, but I dunno. God, I am such a bad singer in comparison to her. :embarassed:

Man, I'm really loving Repeaterbeater, in fact I'm really liking the direction they're going in in general. Its actually quite different for them, which is odd because it's still distinctly Mew-sounding. I really can't wait for the album, I think I'll definitely like it better than The Glass Handed Kites :D

Fo' sho! I agree with every thing you said. I know it's going to be amazing. And I already like the B-sides so far better than all their others. This new sound is so addicting and yet so Mew, I can't even listen to their old songs right now. :)

I can't decide between RB or IPP as my fave...changes all the time..both incredibly good tho :D

 

I'm trying to to over listen tho' - I don't wanna be sick of them by August...though not sure I could get too sick of them..

I highly doubt I can get sick of these songs. Literally, when I first downloaded them I played them 200 times each in a ROW. Though, RB is a win. IPP was an instant win for me. RB grew on me after the first few listens. (The beginning to me was more off than IPP's) But now I prefer it.

Yeah, I'd say I love both songs equally now, though both have their highlights - IPP, I love how it changes gears near the end with that quirky synth; and RP, well, just the whole song really, the rolling beat is addictive and the guitar riffs and effects are just awesome. :wideeyed:

 

BTW, it's awesome that the Mew thread is always on the first page, even it it does get a bit... girly, at times :lol: :P

Haha. This thread almost fell to page two. And it was a day when we had quite a few updates. but the stupid site wasn't working then. :whip: But yeah, they;'re always something new here, i think. At least we can try to keep it active even without any news. Look at the Apparatjik and Jonas Bjerre Appreciation threads. :P Hardly anything going on there but it's not left the first page. :)

Hello frengers

I gotta tell ya it feels great being on tour again! Germany was fun, nerve-wrecking size venues! Kings of Leon made us feel right at home, thanks so much for having us! I told Caleb we met once before, on a bus in Japan, but he did not remember. It was some time ago. Thanks all you guys, it was great playing with you!!

 

We've had a rather bumpy ride with the equipment and malfunctioning technical stuff, but luckily we have an amazing crew, some new but friendly faces, and they are a hard-working bunch! I got to eat some Röschti, ever had that? If you're ever in Germany, you gotta try it!

 

Touring now with NIN and it's been a great experience, I saw their show at Düsseldorf (which was SUPERB!) but in Berlin unfortunately we had to leave early to make the ferry (or some such thing). Hoping to catch their show at Roskilde as I have the friday off! And looking forward to sharing the stage with them at a bunch of shows to come!
