so, i decided to re-listen to the whole album today morning. my thoughts:

 

this album makes you realise how shit today's indie pop/rock music is. unlike the today's indie bands, Jeff Mangum wrote some brilliant lyrics. and if we add his unique voice and in some places melancholy, in other places moving music, that just makes everything's complete and perfect. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea can be easily an image to follow for other bands.

it's not that kind of cool album you would expect to play on the radio stations or at the parties, it's more a personal album which will touch your heart already at the very beginning

 

"and this is the room, one afternoon I knew I could love you, and from above you how I sank into your soul, into that secret place where no one dares to go"

 

...and it will keep you touched during the whole album...

 

"and one day we will die, and our ashes will fly, from the aeroplane over the sea, but for now we are young, let us lay in the sun, and count every beautiful thing we can see, love to be, in the arms of all I'm keeping here with me"

 

"in my dreams you're alive and you're crying, as your mouth moves in mine soft and sweet, rings of flowers around your eyes and I'll love you for the rest of your life..."
