Okay, it took me about an hour and half reading this thread and it seemed to be going back to the same subjects.

 

First of all, we are all annoying. We all do, say or post things that will annoy other members but because of that it doesn't mean one should stop on their right to say what they think and give away their own opinion about it. We do not want people to be have fear to post what they think, but keep in mind that in having your own opinion about something doesn't mean it gives you the right to insult people which it seems most of you have forgotten that little detail.

 

I know Mark might or does annoy some members here but instead of dissing him like I've seen this past week maybe you should either let him know what annoys you of him and try to work it out with him. If it doesn't work out, you always have the option to ignore him. We still have that option available. It is not fair to say someone is annoying and start insulting them in public..there's ways to say the things you want to say without having to insult them... believe it or not.. and that goes for you too Mark. Just because you don't get along well with Reilly and it bothers you that people seem to mention him as a great contributor to the board, doesn't give you the right to call them "The Gang" (cool name btw) and like I've said before there's ways to say the thing you want to say without insulting them.

 

We can all be a little stubborn and not see the things we do wrong. Some of you have complained about how the board has become boring and such and keep going on about it. I've said before it is not about who comes and goes, it's about the ones that are here that make of it. If it's boring to you, don't say how it's become boring but think of the things you could do to make it fun for you and others (that sounds like a quote I've heard before..:thinking:) Anyway, there's a lot of members who don't come anymore and I do miss them too but you don't see me complaining about why they don't come anymore. People have a life just like you and I and maybe they don't have time anymore or have lost interest on the board.

 

 

Hmmm, I was going to say something else but I forgot with the last phrase I wrote above:laugh3::embarassed: Anyway, I'm going to keep this thread open so that hopefully all of you can work out the things that bother you of each other without insults. Have fun posting and take care.

This is the point I've been trying to make all along. I'm fed up with people being taken to task over what they're posting or not posting.;)

I completely agree. This pertains once again to "individual posting style". There are some who like mine, and others who don't. The same goes for anyone on here (including Reilly).

Exactly. Jokes are fine (even the photos weren't really insulting), but there is no place for direct insults against other members, no matter who it is. Smilies help to denote when something is said tongue-in-cheek, so they should be used (even if some people seem to object to them for some reason).

This has basically all come about because of the insults mentioned previously, and it goes back a long way.

When I first started posting here regularly, I got into a slanging match with Reilly, most of which was down to the fact he had a problem with how I was using the board.

The problem is that "fans" of Reilly got involved in an argument that had absolutely nothing to do with them, and that's why it all escalated.

Some of those members are no longer posting here, incidentally, and I, for one, don't miss them.;)

It is a pretty strange coincidence that the ones who have continued to lay into me also happen to be big fans of his. The "gang" references were merely my reaction to this. Obviously I've never really believed there was an actual gang,

but the term had its uses in the circumstances.

This could all have been nipped in the bud far sooner if somebody had stepped long ago to as you have here, Josce.

I stated a long time ago that it should be forbidden for members to start any threads about other members without their consent. Then it's fair all round and major conflicts are avoided.

As soon as a member objects to a thread started about them, it should be locked.

I've only ever started threads about other members as a direct response to ones started about me, as nothing was done to stop the ones about me.

 

I've always respected you more than any mod on here as you've always remained impartial, and that's why I voted for you in last year's "awards" .:cool:

If there was such a position, I would have no hesitation in nominating you for HEAD mod.;):D

That's because I've said this on numerous occasions, particularly over the past few days.

If someone moans about the board or Coldplay, I reserve the right to respond to it.

If anybody really hates it that much, they should go elsewhere instead of dissing it all the time.;)

Exactly. I've said all along that this board is far bigger than any one individual (with the obvious exception of Ian, who created it), and thats why it really irks me that people keep saying it's boring without the presence of certain individuals.;)

My issue with you has only ever been that you have repeatedly criticised my "style" and have always stuck your nose in whenever I've had disputes with Reilly.
