Where do you become aware of new music?

Featured Replies

Yes....I mean where do you find out about new bands....or bands you didn't know yet?

Maybe you can post links of great sites here....

I think this would be cool...;)

because this is one of the main things why I use the net...

mhhh..

it's all coincedence.

you might check out www.laut.de or www.uk-sounds.de

those are my main sources ;)

I normally read Classic Rock Magazine, they have good taste in new bands.

Other than that, support acts are a good way.

From the site I download from, they not only put up mainstream stuff, but stuff from little known bands as well.

i usually become aware of new music via forums....i try stuff out that people recommend and it goes from there

It's usually through friends,on the odd occasion I will just walk into the record shop and pick up a CD which i think looks good..

Is that why you ended up buying the greatest hits of westlife?

Pitchfork is definitely a great source, mostly Indie and non-mainstream music there however.

For hip hop music I go to this blog: http://www.hipandpop.com

I also really enjoy: allthingsgo.blogspot.com

and all the affiliates of that blog

also try using the music genome project: http://www.pandora.com

you throw in a song or artist you like and it will suggest other music to you and play it streaming online for free.

Oh stfu...you would buy that shit!!! What an insult...Loser.....

Either hearing the bands on tv or radio, forums or reading Q magazine.

I often listen to a good radio station which is playing a lot of new songs, especially from Germany, Great Britain and of course Sweden.

Also last.fm helps me a lot to find new music or bands. The radio plug-in is great.
