A touching song about living a life of simple existance and pleasure. It is about stripping out all the unessenital things in life to focus on what is truly important - having good friends around' date=' being kind, and enjoying nature. The question is asked how can we do this, how can we change our lives? The answer to all this is bizarre - Chris Martin of Coldplay writes "So, I wanna live in a wooden and making more friends would be easy." Although it's a nonsensical conclusion - how does a wooden house make life easier - it doesn't ruin the message for me: never lose sight of what is important in your life.[/quote']

the first time i heard this song i didnt really think much of it' date=' but when i listened to it a second time, i listened to the words, and the whole meaning of it just hit me. it would be so wonderful if everyone would accept eachothers differences no matter what, and it would be so wonderful if making friends was simple, and it would be wonderful if everything was simple, and nothing was a problem. i can realate to this song on so many levels, i love how it can mean so many different things to different people for different situations. this song leaves me speechless. and at the same time leaves me with so many emotions. i think its because of how it ends. it stops sort of abruptly, with "i wanna live where the sun comes out" but at the same time it's perfect for the song.[/quote']

For me, this song is about recognizing that what we really want in life are the simple things. Being with your loved one(s), living in peace in a house. Still, we constantly make mistakes and all too often, those mistakes destroy those very things. It's like saying to yourself "I could have it so much better, it's all so easy. So why on earth did I do all those stupid things?".

Also, it's about realising that life sometimes is so complicated that you just wanna "fly and never come down".

I wanna live life

and never be cruel

and I wanna live life

and be good to you

and I wanna fly

and never come down

and live my life

and have friends around

we never change, do we?

no, no

we never learn, do we?

so I wanna live... in a wooden house

I wanna live life

and always be true

and I wanna live life

and be good to you

I wanna fly

and never come down

and live my life

and have friends around

we never change, do we?

no no

we never learn, do we?

so I wanna live... in a wooden house

where making more friends would be easy

oh and I don't have a soul to save

yes and I sin every single day

we never change, do we?

we never learn, do we?

so I wanna live in a wooden house

where making more friends would be easy

I wanna live where the sun comes out

I think the way the music of the song sounds' date=' along with one particular lyric, tinge this song with doubt and melancholy. Yes, there is a lot of sweetness in a few of the lines, but when he says "I won't let you down" in full voice, then "yes, I will, yeah, I will" in half voice, you know that this isn't the unabashed assertion of total devotion that it might seem to be. I think this mentality carries through the whole album. It's not just about how nice and sweet and beautiful love is, it's about that, and about the far less glorious side of love as well. How you can hurt the people you love, how they hurt you, and how much it sucks to fail in love. But the first and last tracks are tinged with hope. That's what prevents the album from being a big bummer, and elevates it far beyond most other albums.[/quote']

Hmm, I think it also might be about when you get to that point in a relationship when you think you should just stick to 'ones you know' and not get too deep with the person in question, even though that hurts in itself and the most you can say is 'ill look out for you'.

And just when emotions get to strong and stuff...

did I drive you away?

I know what you'll say

you say oh, sing one you know

I promise you this

I'll always look out for you

yeah that's what I'll do

you say ah...

I say ah...

my heart is yours

it's you that I hold onto

yeah that's what I do

I know I was wrong

I won't let you down

oh, yeah I will, yeah I will, yes I will

I say ah...

I cry ah...

yeah I saw sparks

yeah I saw sparks

and I saw sparks

yeah I saw sparks

Wobbly Eastern guitar intro - think Love-era Cult' date=' Porcupine-era Echo & The Bunnymen. Another burrowing hook that fleshes itself out as the song progresses[/quote']

Try listening to this song on a sunrise walk. Especially when you have something planned to do that day, it helps you look forward to it and look at the beauty of the earth.

I believe Chris may metaphorically be saying that without the good parts in life, the bad would be unbearable. How we continue to hold on throughout the bad, waiting for the good (the sunshine) to peak through into our lives once again.

I see it an individual's personal experience of God in their own life. They begin by realizing their own powerlessness, and accepting it ("I am nothing / in the dark"). After they surrender their ego, they are able to accept the grace of God ("and the clouds burst / to show daylight"). They are overwhelmed by it, and it gives them a fresh perspective on life ("ooo and the sun shines / on this heart of mine"), to the point that they wonder how they ever got along without it. They feel that they are being 'lifted up' ("on a hilltop / on a skyrise") and set apart/consecrated - ("like a first born" - see Numbers 18:15-16 in the Bible). The purpose of the redemption is that they may be ready to fight evil. The final part of the song is a bit more difficult. The extreme repetition suggest a gradual movement of the redeemed person's soul toward heaven - hence the "breaking through the daylight." They are going to the source of the daylight, which is God. The daylight mentioned throughout the song represents love.

To my surprise and my delight

I saw sunrise, I saw sunlight

I am nothing in the dark

And the clouds burst to show daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine

Yeah on this heart of mine

Ooh and I realise

Who cannot live without

Ooh come apart without

It

On a hilltop, on a sky rise

Like a firstborn child

And at full tilt, and in full flight

Defeat darkness, breaking daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine

Yeah on this heart of mine

Ooh and I realised

Who cannot live without

Ooh and come apart without

Daylight

Slowly breaking through daylight

Slowly breaking through daylight

Slowly breaking through daylight

Slowly breaking through daylight (x10)

Coldplay joined the recording of the "Help: A Day In The Life" charity album at the eleventh hour.

The band donate the song 'How You See The World' in an effort to record and release an album in the fastest possible time for the War Child organisation. War Child executive Mark Waddington said: "It went really close to the wire but it's great to have them on board."

'How You See The World' had been previously available only in Japan, but the band remixed it to create a new version with different lyrics for the LP. A spokesperson for the charity added: "Chris Martin re-wrote the lyrics for the project and recorded the vocals at a studio in New York on Thursday 8th September 2005. The vocals were then sent digitally to 'Help' producer Mark Stent who remixed the track on the last night."

When life becomes almost like an illusion to you, it takes a lot for you place yourself back in reality. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Coldplay songs ever. It boggles my mind that they didn't release it on X&Y. However, there is something intimate about keeping it a rather unknown song. I'm currently going through a hard time in my life, and just listening to this song keeps the flame going. It's as if Chris is singing this song specifically to the listener, helping them track down exactly what is causing these feelings.

This song, along with most other Coldplay songs, is psychologically healing.

They put the world in a tin can

Black market, contriband

And it hurt just a little bit, when they sliced and packaged it

In a long black trench coat

Two hands around the throat

Ooh you want to get it right sometimes

Theres so much to be scared of

And not much to make sense of

How did the clowns ever get control?

If your hear can you let me know

How can they invade it, when it's so complicated?

Ooh you just want to get it right sometimes

You just want to get it right sometimes

That's how you see the world

How many times can you say, you can't believe what you learn

That's how you see the world, don't you worry yourself

You're not gonna give up

And there's something missing, seems like theres nobody listening

If you're running in a circle, how can you be too careful?

We don't wanna be man trapped, we don't wanna be shrink wrapped

Ooh, we just want to get it right sometimes

Just want to get it right sometimes

That's how you see the world

How many times have you heard, but you can't believe a word

That's how you see the world, but don't you worry yourself

Cause nobody can hurt you

Youuuu

Oooohh

That's how you see the world

That's how you see the world

@ Ian : sorry, but since i haven't seen your list, i didn't count it :/

One I Love is criminally low...:P

Massive respect for doing all this though! Awesome job!

You couldnt've done one more? ;)

Hooray for How You See the World. That song to me is orgasmic. Almost literally.

yay for the songs! awaiting the next installment...especially the top 5! i stand by my preditcion but only nik knows for sure whether they're right or not!

Sleeping Sun is criminally low. I'm guessing Gravity will rank above it. Which ticks me off.

And how the hell did Twisted Logic end up so low!?!?! That's top 20 material IMO. Oh well.

"It's about an American friend of mine who looked after me when I was being a bit of an idiot. I met this friend in New Mexico; I was out there to see a Dave Matthews concert and I'm glad I went to that concert and I'm glad that I met her."

Romantic strum along that's already divided opinion within the Coldplay camp. Generall ballpark: Wild Honey on U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind' date=' minus the cowboy campfire vibe.[/quote']

It's about a person that is very special to you - "the one that I wanted to find" (like "the one that saves me" in Wonderwall). The "honey" makes it look like a song about a girl you're in love with' date=' but apart from that, it could also be about your best friend - someone with whom you share unique emotions. In fact, Chris Martin wrote it partly about a girl and partly about his closest friend, guitarist Johnny Buckland (his "secret gay-love" or "the man I want to spend the rest of my life with", as Chris said).[/quote']

Honey you are a rock

Upon which I stand

And I come here to talk

I hope you understand

That green eyes

Yeah the spotlight shines upon you

And how could anybody deny you

I came here with a load

And it feels so much lighter

Now I met you

And honey you should know

That I could never go on without you

Green Eyes

Honey you are the sea

Upon which I flow

And I came here to talk

I think you should know

That green eyes,

You're the one that I wanted to find

And anyone who tried to deny you

Must be out of their mind

Because I came here with a load

And it feels so much lighter

Since I met you

And honey you should know

That I could never go on without you

Green Eyes

Green Eyes

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

I think this song is about how you shut yourself off from another's after you such traumatic experiences like having a friend die' date=' breaking up with a lover, or becoming a celebrity. Your circle of friends come "snapping at your heels" asking you for all the information, this can be the press whatever. And he's basically asking that he or another person not go through life away from love just to escape the pain.[/quote']

this song reminds me of loosing someones trust' date=' whether it be from lying, cheating, or disrespecting them...the person singing is trying to regain everything back but the person hes talking to is too different from him now. although he is trying to patch everything up the other is too scared from the past, keeping "all the windows closed" because they are scared they will be hurt again.[/quote']

So you lost your trust,

And you never should have, you never should have,

But don't break your back,

If you ever see this,

Don't answer that.

In a bullet proof vest,

With the windows all closed,

I'll be doing my best,

I'll see you soon,

In a telescope lens,

And when all you want is friends,

I'll see you soon.

So they came for you,

They came snapping at your heels,

They come snapping at you heels,

But don't break your back,

If you ever see this,

Don't answer that.

In a bullet proof vest,

With the windows all closed,

I'll be doing my best,

I'll see you soon,

In a telescope lens,

And when all you want is friends,

I'll see you soon,

I'll see you soon.

I know you lost your trust,

I know you lost your trust,

Don't lose your trust,

I know you lost your trust.

"Gravity"' date=' the single's B-side, was originally written by Chris Martin for the British band Embrace, and is found on their album Out of Nothing.[/quote']

I think it's basically him talking about travelling back to the woman he loves. He can't stop smiling thinking of seeing her again after such a long time, his heart is racing and beating loud.

Maybe he's in a plane writing this.

There might be a hint of gravity pushing them apart by turning on you and me. but then at the end it pulls on you and I - meaning that they are finally going to be together again.

Baby

It’s been a long coming

Such a long long time

And I can’t stop running

Such a long long time

Can you hear my heart beating?

Can you hear that sound

Coz I can’t help thinking

And I won’t stop now

And then I look up at the sun

And I could see

O the way that gravity pours

On you and me

And then I look up at the sky

And saw the sun

And the way that gravity pushes

On everyone

On everyone

Baby

When your wheels stop turning

And you feel let down

And it seems like troubles

Have come all around

I can hear your heart beating

I can hear that sound

But I can’t help thinking

And I won’t look now

And then I looked up at the sun

And I could see

Oh the way that gravity pours

On you and me

And then I looked up at the sky

And saw the sun

And the way that gravity pushes

on everyone...

The high point is the closing track' date=' "Everything's Not Lost", that grows from a vocal and piano introduction into an epic ballad.[/quote']

The song is pretty self explanatory. When you're having a bad day or something is wrong in your life that you think will have no resolution, don't let it drag you down. At the concert in Chicago, Chris Martin himself said during the song, " remember that every problem has a solution.

Everything's not lost.

when I counted up my demons

saw there was one for every day

with the good ones on my shoulders

I drove the other ones away

so if you ever feel neglected

and if you think that all is lost

I'll be counting up my demons, yeah

hoping everything's not lost

when you thought that it was over

you could feel it all around

and everybody's out to get you

don't you let it drag you down

'cos if you ever feel neglected

if you think that all is lost

I'll be counting up my demons, yeah

hoping everything's not lost

if you ever feel neglected

if you think that all is lost

I'll be counting up my demons, yeah

hoping everything's not lost

singing out ah ah ah yeah

ah ah yeah

ah ah yeah

and everything's not lost

so come on yeah

ah ah yeah

come on yeah

and everything's not lost

ah ah yeah

ah ah yeah

ah ah yeah

and everything's not lost

so come on yeah

ah ah yeah

ah come on yeah

come on yeah

ah ah yeah

come on yeah

and everything's not lost

sing out yeah

ah ah yeah

21. A Message

"My favorite song' date=' its the simplest. It arrived with 10 days of recording left so it was very exciting to do. It took a day and a half to record."[/quote']

The title of this song tells you exactly what it is. It's a message. Obviously, some kind of message or statement to the narrator's love. It almost gives you the vibe that the narrator has his love seated, and he's telling her all these wonderful things. The chorus confirms that the narrator is not planning on letting this love go. Perhaps his love is unrequited, and he cannot wait any longer- thus sending this message to the girl.

My song is love

Love to the loveless, shown

And it goes up

You don't have to be alone

Your heavy heart

Is made of stone

And its so hard to see you clearly

You don't have to be on your own

You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back

Well I'm not gonna say I don't mean that

Your the target that I'm aiming at

And I get that message home

My song is love

My song is love, unknown

And I'm on fire for you, clearly

You don't have to be alone

You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back

And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that

Your the target that I'm aiming at

But I'm nothing on my own

Got to get that message home

And I'm not gonna stand and wait

Not gonna leave it until its much too late

On a platform I'm gonna stand and say

That I'm nothing on my own

And I love you, please come home

My song is love, is love unknown

And I've got to get that message home

A guy that isn't happy with his current situation with his girlfriend. He feels himself trapped' date=' uncomfortable, although he has nothing to be unhappy with. He wants to spit it out to her, but he just can't or won't be given the chance somehow. To everyone else, he's damn lucky to have that girl, but he doesn't feel that way. He has the need to get away from her, be free.[/quote']

I usually twist songs a bit to reflect a personal situation of mine' date=' and so to me it's a guy who still loves a girl that everyone else didn't think was good idea. So he tries to forget about her, but it doesn't work because he sees her too much..and is reminded of how much he loves her-despite how risky their relationship is, and so he tries to ignore her/preoccupy himself to stop his feelings.[/quote']

I ran away from you

That's all I ever do

And though I started here

I ran away from you

I'm gonna come on in

And see it through

I ran away from you

That's all I ever do

And when I heard you call

"Come back to me"

I know I should stay

I don't have the stomach to

Everyone I know says

I'm a fool to mess with you

Everyone I know says

it's a stupid thing to do

I have your love on call

And yet my day is so full

There might be nothing left to do

So I ran away from you

I'm gonna come on in

My eyes are closed

I can feel it there

The sun's so close

I'm gonna come on out

And burn the sky

A star arose in my own cage

I'm stuck in life and in a cage

Just a single star

I sing for

Everyone I know

says I'm a fool mess with you

Everyone I know

says it's a stupid thing to do

I have your love on call

And yet my day is so full

And I did not know what to do

So I ran away from you

19. Spies

I think this song is just about all the different things in life that are unescapable. worries' date=' stressors, minor/major troubles of just everyday life and it's complications are always around, and there is no way to ever escape them. even when we think that we have somehow managed to escape them, we will soon find that they are just hiding in the background (like spies...). we always suspect them to present themselves but are always happy with every moment that they keep themselves hidden and allow to enjoy life.[/quote']

He talks about the communism thing in one of his concerts' date=' but that's not what this song was wriiten about. Chris Martin was joking about how the Chinese government misinterpretted the lyrics as being anticommunist. I think the meaning falls somewhat in line with what blue dissent was saying. Spies are just an analogy for for whatever worries you or gets you down. You can't live like a fugitive to your worries, cuz there will always be more worries lurking around every corner. Just live your life and remind yourself to not let your worries get the best of you.[/quote']

Seriously' date='though here is the way this song makes me feel. The singer,is singing about asking his friend how lives like a fugitive, everyday or at least so often, because, the way this song goes,it seems to me that this is his first encounter with LSD. "Tell me wich way to go..." He is asking his dear friend for guidance on how to deal with this chemical change occuring within his body. He is frightened by the way he feels and wants his friend to help keep him calm. Then all hell breaks loose, the spies come out of the water. To me this is obviously a visual hallucination caused by LSD,wether he saw spies coming out of the water,or spies are a metaphor for all aroud frightening things,I do not know. He knows he cant fight back, because theyre either too big or too frightening,"you cant touch them,no. Cause theyre all spies" He feels trapped "were all fugitives....down here" he feels the LSD's affect will never wear off, perhaps he has completely forgotten that 35 minutes ago,he bit into a gel capsule and thats why he feels this way. Then the spies come out again, only this time i think his general worry and discomfort about his feeling his intensified his visuals and has now become more afraid of these spies. "and if we dont hide here, theyre gonna find us...." That whole line about hiding reminds me of my first psychoactive experience. At some point he realises that everything is ok,its just a drug "and you feel so good...theyre JUST spies" Thats my theory[/quote']

I awake to find no peace of mind

I said how do you live

as a fugitive

down here, where I cannot see so clear

I said what do I know

show me the right way to go

and the spies came out of the water

and you're feeling so bad 'cos you know

that the spies hide out in every corner

but you can't touch them no

'cos they're all spies

they're all spies

I awake to see that no-one is free

we're all fugitives

look at the way we live

down here, I cannot sleep from fear, no

I said which way do I turn

oh I forget everything I learn

and the spies came out of the water

and you're feeling so bad 'coz you know

that the spies hide out in every corner

but you can't touch them no

'cos they're all spies

they're all spies

and if we don't hide here

they're gonna find us

and if we don't hide now

they're gonna catch us where we sleep

and if we don't hide here

they're gonna find us

and the spies came out of the water

and you're feeling so good 'cos you know

that those spies hide out in every corner

they can't touch you no

'cos they're just spies

they're just spies

they're just spies

they're just spies

they're just spies

I'm not sure what the meaning of this song is' date=' but I think it has to do with the unknown and uncertainty that comes with life, like little white shadows out there that you can't see, kinda like the future. And I think it also can refer to relationships and how unsure they can be and the spotaneity with which they come to be.[/quote']

Not much of a fan of Coldplay's lyrics though I think their music is often beautiful. They come across as sub-U2: all relationship mumbo-jumbo without the redemtive power of U2's religious obsession. This song seems to be about how when you grow up you lose innocence' date=' sense of wonder, and have to conform etc. While this loss of innocence is a shame.....there are benefits of being "part of the system"......ie the future is uncertain and connecting to someone is the only way to get through it. Just my 2 cents.[/quote']

When I was a young boy I tried to listen

And I wanna feel like that

Little white shadows

blink and miss them

Part of a system, I am

If you ever feel like something's missing

Things you'll never understand

Little white shadows

Sparkle and glisten

Part of a system again

All this noise, I'm waking up

All this space, I'm taking up

All this sound is breaking up

Ohhhhhhhh

Maybe you'll get what you wanted

maybe you'll stumbled upon it

Everything you ever wanted

In a permanent state

Maybe you'll know when you see it

Maybe if you say it, you'll mean it

And when you find it you'll keep it

In a permanent state, a permanent state

When I was a young boy I tried to listen

Don't you wanna feel like that?

You're part of the human race

All of the stars and the outer space

Part of the system again

All this noise, I'm waking up

All this space I'm taking up

I cannot hear, you're breaking up

Whooaaaaaaa

Maybe you'll get what you wanted

Maybe you'll stumble upon it

Everything you ever wanted

In a permanent state

Maybe you'll know when you see it

Maybe if you say it, you'll mean it

And when you find it you'll keep it

In a permanent state, a permanent state

Swim out on a sea of faces

Tide of the human races

Oh, an answer now is what I need...

See it in a new sun rising

See it break on your horizon

Oh, come on love, stay with me...

19th?... 19th?... Ermm... I kinda thought Spies's gonna be in top-five.... Sad.

It made its radio premiere on BBC Radio 1 with Steve Lamacq on the evening of Monday, 18 April 2005; the track is currently available for download on the band's official site and on the iTunes Music Store. A 30 second clip of the song was also available as a downloadable ringtone.

Beginning with a piano riff reminiscent of Coldplay's "Clocks", the song builds into a huge, synth-heavy chorus: "Birds go flying at the speed of sound, to show you how it all began / Birds came flying from the underground, if you could see it then you'd understand." The song was created as the band attempted to work through a cover version of Kate Bush's song, "Running Up That Hill." If you listen closely, you can hear the resemblance of the main riff to that in Bush's song.

"Speed of Sound" was beaten to the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart by the novelty ringtone "Axel F" by Crazy Frog, a computer animated marketing tool. It also became Coldplay's biggest single in the US, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The video promo for "Speed of Sound" was shot on a Los Angeles sound stage over 22–23 April 2005. Shooting took place on large sets backed by large LED displays. The performance based video was helmed by Mark Romanek, who was responsible for Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and Jay-Z's "99 Problems".

The video earned 4 nominations at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.

I think that the whole song is about discovery, finding things and getting inspiration. The first 2 verses could relate to how he was trying to find inspiration for this album.

I think the chorus has a direct link to how songs can give you inspiration, "birds flying" at the "speed of sound" means the songs that free you and broaden your mind, even your own songs can bring to the surface things you had kept in your unconscious "underground"

I'm torn between the meaning of the third verse, it could mean the limitation of human knowledge and the human mind, there are so many things that we'll never even think about "Ideas that you'll never find" and that perhaps other people and other songs can find them for you.

The next line, however, seems to be about the expanse of your imagination, or the things locked away in your mind and I believe its "ALL the inventors could never design the buildings that you put up" i.e in your imagination,

and then it seems to revert back to the idea that our knowledge is limited "some things you have to believe but others are puzzles puzzling me" or it could mean that we all have different interpretations about things and we'll understand some things and others will understand other things... I guess that's what this site is all about!

how long before I get in

before it starts, before I begin

how long before you decide

before I know what it feels like

where to?

Where do I go?

if you've never tried then you'll never know

how long do I have to climb

up on the side of this mountain of mine

look up, I look up at night

planets are moving at the speed of light

climb up, up in the trees

every chance that you get

is a chance you seize

how long am I gonna can stand

with my head stuck under the sand

I start before I can stop

before I see thing the right way up

all that noise, all that sound

all those places that i have found

and birds go flying at the speed of sound

to show how it all began

birds came flying from the underground

if you could see it then you'd understand

ideas that you'll never find

or the inventors could never design

the buildings that you put up

Japan and China... all lit up

the sign that I couldn't read

or the light that I couldn't see

some things you have to believe

but others are puzzles, puzzling me

all that noise, all that sound

all those places that i have found

and birds go flying at the speed of sound

to show how it all began

birds came flying from the underground

if you could see it then you'd understand

all those signs I knew what they meant

something you can't invent

Some get made, and some get sent

ooh

words go flying at the speed of sound

to show how it all began

birds came flying from the underground

if you could see it then you'd understand

oh, when you see it then you'll understand

Built around a subtle electronic drum beat reminiscent of Brian Eno or Berlin-period Bowie' date=' the song builds into a huge chorus featuring massive guitars and organ. Like Radioheads Paranoid Android it's perplexing on the first listen and appears to go off on different tangents, but after a few spins it sounds like their most ambitious and possibly best song yet.[/quote']

"It started off sounding like Dire Straits..." and from Martin' date=' "Dire Straits are brilliant, but its really uncool to like them, but I do."[/quote']

This song is about the Bible Code (from the top of the first page to the end of the last day)

"Are they bleeding all your colors into one?"

This line is so meaningful to me. To me it means that your life was once as wonderful as a beautiful painting but then something happens that is so painful that your life, your soul, your heart starts bleeding and bleeding until all the beautiful colors and pictures seem to bleed into one color. And what color comes when you mix together a lot of colors? usually a dark one...

This is what this single sentence means to me because it is what I am going through. All the beautiful life I once had is bleeding into one color.... black.

You're in control

Is there anywhere you wanna go?

You're in control

Is there anything you wanna know?

The future's for discovering

The space in which we travel in

From the top of the first page

To the end of the last day

From the start in your own way

You just want somebody listening to what you say

It doesn't matter who you are

Under the surface trying to break through

Deciphering the codes in you

I need a compass, draw me a map

I'm on the top, I can't get back

Whooooaaa, whooooaaa

The first line on the first page

To the end of the last page (you were looking at)

From the start in your own way

You just want somebody listening to what you say

It doesn't matter who you are

It doesn't matter who you are

You just want somebody listening to what you say

You just want somebody listening to what you say

It doesn't matter who you are

It doesn't matter who you are

Is there anybody out there who

Is lost and hurt and lonely too

Are they bleeding all your colours into one?

And if you come undone

As if you've been run through

Some catapult it fired you

You wonder if your chance'll ever come

Or if you're stuck in square one
