A woman tells today how she has spent more than £30,000 on using sunbeds.

Mandy Sherwin, 34, tops up her tan six times a week after becoming hooked on the practice when she was 15.

She is one of a growing number of "tanorexics" - people for whom tanning has become a dangerous obsession - featured in a BBC 1 documentary to be shown tonight.

She admits having had a skin cancer scare but insists: "If we listened to everything we should not do, we would never do anything."

The programme, Tantastic, also features "Solar Sid" - a single fiftysomething so eager to have an all-over tan that he even sunbathes in winter.

"One time it was 19 December and half the garden was frosted over but the other half had the sun on it," he recalls.

The programme reveals three million Britons use a sunbed regularly.

Tantastic will be shown on BBC1 at 10.50pm.

OMG 6 times a week!!! thats crazy, if she wanted a tan so badly she should have saved £30,000 and spent it on moving to a warmer country lol!
