these days repeatedly first at latin mtv awards in mexico,then at q awards or digital music awards.

But before there used to be no award ceremony with out coldplay.

Be it is a grammy or brits.But why they are losing these days despite of the fact that x&y being a great album.

why is it that some other bands like arctic monkeys,oasis and others are gaining them?

It's 2006.. X&Y was released 2005, and last year they took home more awards.. In addition, they were never a big award band! No matter where, at least last year, Green Day "stole" them most of the awards ;)

 

I don't think that awards matter at all.. They've won Grammys, which is big, and Brit Awards.. And I'm fine with that :D

For me I like when they win awards because they deserve them but the reason they haven't won many awards is because they're usually up against U2-which is an awesome band that's been around for, like 20 years: and Greenday- who has been very overrated.

I'm just surprised at Oasis's won Q awards ,they did nothing this year:rolleyes:

Right now, Coldplay isn't as on the scene as they were a year ago.

 

Plus, X&Y wasn't that great of an album...it really wasn't the best album of 2005.

 

As a side note, I would disagree with those who say Green Day is overrated. IMO, American Idiot is a damned good album!

I can't say if American Idiot was a good album or not, as I haven't listened to it, but the Green Day Hype last year was really annoying indeed! They won everything, it got boring :P

Yeah that's true that one artist wins almost everything. But their albums are great :) Not everyone but it's a very good band ! You can't deny that, but well to win everything is not right ;) Cause there are many other great bands :)

X&Y was great enough to be the biggest selling album in the world in 2005!

 

It would be stupid to be giving them loads of awards on a year that they haven't released a new album.

 

I think they already knew that they weren't going to get the Q award because they didn't even bother going to the ceremony, despite being in London at the time. I think they're not bothered about winning awards for X&Y now - they've moved onto the new album. I prefer that! :)

And I'm sorry but I still stand by what I said about Greenday. I actually thought about buying American Idiot but their singles were played almost every hour on MTV and the radio- and I think overplayed songs become less special after a while. :\

Yesterday they brought something about the EMA's on the news while I was having dinner with my family, and my mum said "Why the hell didn't your beloved Coldplay win anything?" and I told her that they haven't released anything this year and that they won last year.. And I suddenly realised: Gosh, it's 1 1/2 half years since I've been to their concert! 1 1/2 half years since X&Y! Can't believe it.. I feel like it was yesterday :D

my parents saw the coldplay concert of live 8 on a vh1 show and they feel that coldplay is boring.

But not to me here, for me i love coldplay and it is just anything like part of my life.
