Featured Replies

oh it's okay. I was just thinking how every Christmas is different you know.. even if you buy a tree every year.. or put on the christmas lights every year and how many things seems to be in "repeat" but it really is different every year..and some people forget to put the baby jesus!

I love Christmas more and more each year, and yeah I agree it's different every year, even though you do the same thing every year. I love spirit of it all!

I don't think we ever forgot baby Jesus though...:laugh3:

Good to know, Annie :D Good to know! I never forget hehe ;)

I like it less and less each year, because each year it gets more and more commercial and appears to start earlier and earlier, and people get more and more obsessed with it.

IMO, any Christmas advertising/symbolism should be banned each year before December 1st, to try to keep Christmas "special".;)

I actually hate it too..it just means more work for me!!!

True. For many people (including mums) it just means more work.

My mum's escaping to Spain this year, and I can't blame her.;)

Well i don't blame her either..what with you around!!!

I love Christmas because it is the only time my whole family are together under the same roof :nice:

I'm working Chritmas.

 Never heard of that!!!

Aha! But the problem is that with many families it's very risky to have them all under the same roof!!

I'm working Chritmas.

Exactly. There are a lot of people who have to. People forget that.;)

Hospitals don't ever close. I'm also working Thanksgiving. I'm off for New Years, thank god. All the drunks crash into each other and come to my unit. Worse night to work is New Years Eve.

People focus too much on one or two days of the year instead of just enjoying themselves when they feel like it.;)

oh wow. that made me think.

but, yeah, you're right.

a ot of things change during a year and still we're celebrating christmas, which makes that fest different as well though.

i'm glad to be young still. well.. i mean, that i'm still living with my parents. so we automatically celebrate together. christmas on one's own must be pretty sad (and i'm sure i'll have that experience in a few years!).

my mum's a nurse and i really appreciate the fact that she never has to work on christmas.

(it's wokring on christmas or working on new year's eve) and she usually works on new year's eve, but gets home before 12am!

Do people around the world get their presents in the evening of December 24th like in Germany? I heard that Christmas Eve in the UK and US is on December 25th while people in the Netherlands receive their gifts already on December 6th. Is that right? :D

Well, I don't have any wishes for Christmas so far but I like the fact that all family members will be here and in the last few years we also had snow on Christmas. ;)

But the time before Christmas is also nice and I really enjoy it. There is a big Christmas market in Bremen every year and my friends and I always celebrate the cold days there by drinking "Glühwein", "Lumumba" etc. It's traditional to spend a lot of days there.

I thought I was going to America but I'm not going now. However, I'm still not likely to celebrate christmas with me family.

christmas on the 6th?! :shocked2:

another fact i love about christmsas is the nativity scene.

i love decorating the crib... :D
