December 15, 200619 yr DiCaprion got 2 nominations in the same category, that's kind of rare, ain't it? go Departed
December 16, 200619 yr Author DiCaprion got 2 nominations in the same category, that's kind of rare, ain't it? go Departed  yea i agree its quite rare.. but thats very great for him as an actor. and i haven't seen his other movie.. but i sure do hope he gets his award for Departed.. :) yay, 5 noms for Departed , it so deserves it .. :smug:
December 16, 200619 yr i just realised i've been SO deprived of movies. i've seen none of those films listed - none! as for television. go house, lost, 24..and hbo programs. i shall always support them for bringing me band of brothers!
December 16, 200619 yr Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama - Patricia Arquette – Medium (NBC) - Edie Falco – The Sopranos (HBO) - Ellen Pompeo – Grey's Anatomy (ABC) - Kyra Sedgwick – The Closer (TNT) You missed Evangeline Lilly from Lost;) Tough choices: I love Grey's Anatomy but to me 24 is clearly the best drama on TV, so for GA to get an award either Ellen Pompeo would have to win in her category (which would suck because Patricia Arquette rules) or Patrick Dempsey in his, and it'd be really unfair given that Hugh Laurie got House's only nomination. And I'm ignoring such a great show like Lost. TV addict?
December 16, 200619 yr Author You missed Evangeline Lilly from Lost;) Tough choices: I love Grey's Anatomy but to me 24 is clearly the best drama on TV, so for GA to get an award either Ellen Pompeo would have to win in her category (which would suck because Patricia Arquette rules) or Patrick Dempsey in his, and it'd be really unfair given that Hugh Laurie got House's only nomination. And I'm ignoring such a great show like Lost. TV addict? well, i got the noms from here: http://www.hfpa.org/nominations/index.html, and i cant see Evangeline Lilly .. are you sure she's nominated? .. and i like 24 the most.. it is by far the most entertaining show to me from all those..:) @Kathy: i don't know if you like Crime movies, but The Departed is one heck of a movie, i enjoyed a LOT! .. you probably should check it out ;)
December 17, 200619 yr DiCaprion got 2 nominations in the same category, that's kind of rare, ain't it? go Departed  I think this is actually the first time in the history of the GGs -the same actor nominated for two different roles in the Best Leading Actor, drama category. But Forest Whitaker is the current favorite -shame for Leo DiCaprio, because he was really awesome in the Departed. Next year, Leo, next year.... The Golden Globes nominations disappointed me a bit --mostly because United 93 got no nods at all. By far the best and most important film of this year and yet, no recognition. In my opinion, Borat and the Devil Wears Prada were okay but not award-worthy. Similarly, Johnny Depp's performance in PotC 2... I adore Johnny Depp but I thought he wasn't really good in it. The Departed and the Queen deserve all their noms though! For the TV nominations, well, I don't watch many TV shows but I'm glad to see Michael C. Hall nominated, he's such a fantastic actor! I love the award season. It's kinda lame, but I really enjoy it :D
December 17, 200619 yr Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama Nominees Patricia Arquette for "Medium" (2005) Edie Falco for "The Sopranos" (1999) Evangeline Lilly for "Lost" (2004) Ellen Pompeo for "Grey's Anatomy" (2005) Kyra Sedgwick for "The Closer" (2005) from http://www.imdb.com/features/rto/2007/globes by the way Julia Louis Dreyfus has to win in her category, she cracks me up

December 21, 200619 yr Sherrybaby The best movies I've seen out of the nomiations have to be Babel and Sherrybaby. Maggie Gyllenhaal was the best I have ever seen her to date in Sherrybaby, and I wouldn't be surprised if she walked away with the statue on Golden Globe night. I wish this film would have gotten more press, but like most indies, it seems to have slid under the radar of most people. For anyone who hasn't heard about this one , you can find an interview with director Laurie Collier on the story and making of the film here: http://tinyurl.com/y7l6yx Maybe Maggie will even get an Ocar nod this year...
