Wow, I was really surprised when I woke up this morning and watched the news. What a bad decision! Sure, Saddam was probably responsible for thousands of massacres, especially in the North of Iraq, but death penalty is always the worst solution! He should have better been arrested for the rest of his life.

I don't know what will happen in Iraq today or tomorrow, but I think the situation will not become easier for the British and American army. I really hope that people now realize that this war was the most unnecessary war ever! I'm incredibly proud Germany didn't take part of it.

By the way, people in Europe are watching the international version of CNN, which is more independent than the US version. I agree that Fox News seemed to be a propaganda channel for the US government since the invasion in 2003.

Yeah, I agree with Tracie.

I have a feeling that all hell's going to break lose. Like, it's night here and it's dawn over there and it's like some quiet before the storm.

I feel bad for him too, Annie. Ha, I thought I was the only one. He was a vicious tyrant but he was still human.

I don't think all hell will break lose now. He's dead but barely had any followers anymore. I don't think the Iraqi's care as much about him as they make us believe.

And I do think he got what he deserves. I can not feel bad for a man who killed so many people, drove his country into wars it couldn't win, tortured people, kidnapped people, ... No, this man got what he deserves. Too bad there wasn't enough time for him to think about what he's done and to feel bad for it.

Thats why the death penalty wasn't the answer :dozey:

Yes it was. The man decided about life or death for so long. This time the community decided to 'erase' him, like he erased all his opponents and other people he, for some reason, disliked.

No, I think the death penalty was the good answer. Look if every unjust leader know that the hand of straightness will catch him sooner or later, the world will change.

About Saddam, it just enugh for him when he saw the cord and he walking to it then the cord wrapping and puting around his nick, of course all what he did flashed in his mind, it's a terrible moment indeed. It's harder than the imprison life time.

May his victims get rest now.

The aftermath of Saddam's death may shed some light on what will happen after we get Osama bin Laden...

...or did we all forget about him?

This is such a mess.

you know what i heard today in a book store?

a man and a woman speaking to each other in the barnes and noble cafe area....

Talking about Saddam's execution..

Woman-"i just dont like the idea of executions"

Man-"An eye for an eye, he killed thousands"

Woman-"oh i know dont get me wrong, but it just seems...i dont know"

Man-"Hey we are just getting him back for 9/11!!"

Woman-"good point"

i wanted to scream, SADDAM DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH 9/11!!! THE GUY WE SHOULD BE EXECUTING IS STILL OUT THERE!!!

Haha....

You should have told them.....It's annoying how very little people know isn't it.

Also, I doubt Osama can or will be caught. Unless of course he's on ice until the moment he's needed most.
