I've just changed for AVG Free 7.1 to 7.5. I now have two AVG icons on my desktop, one the new version 7.5 and one the old.

 

What do I do with the old 7.1 icon?

That's odd that it kept the 7.1 installed instead of overwriting it with 7.5.

 

Highlight the icon for 7.1 and press delete, it's prob just an old shortcut ;)

Yes, it looks to be a shortcut as it is only 2kb and the other one is higher.

I was just fiddling on and I found that the original icon executes the program where as the new icon starts the installation. Weird eh?

 

Good job it was sent to the recycle bin and my curiosity/ boredom got the better of me.

Since we are talking about AVG....i recently(well a few months ago)....i ran windows update and updated my system...then when i finished updating it,I restarted it..then all of a sudden AVG says license error....it now reckons my computer is a work computer..and asks me for the license number....but there is no licence number...I can't even un-install it...it just sits there being useless..and taking up space...anyone have any suggestions how I could get rid of it??

If its the free version just type in AVG Free on google and go to the AVG Free website and i think there is a help forum.
