Air Traffic

Featured Replies

The main factor is that the record company pays the mercury board a nominal amount, and for the album to be released within a set time limit. (ie 21st June 06 to 20th June 07)

Well I am well peed off now!

Birthday weekend, book hotel in Leeds, buy tickets to see Air Traffic and they postpone it till November on a Tuesday. Nice

Looked at my ticket and it is number 100 so Im guessing theyve not sold enough.

Shame.

What a surprise! :dozey: So if you didn't pay anything you won't get nominated?

Shame.

I'm sorry to hear that. :( Though I think haven't sold enough tickets is quite reasonable to postpone a show. A bad thing, but understandable imo.

Does anyone here happen to have b-sides from their singles (if there any)?

You have to pay a set amount to put your album forward to the long-list which the judges vote down a short-list of 12.

I might do a massive Air Traffic upload this weekend

YAY!! Thank you!

Could you upload them and post in that thread?

The Air Traffic Thread !

Just heard their track 'shooting stars' on the MTV show 'Living on the Edge'... Been addicted to the song and 'No More Running Away' ever since. Anybody else know of'em? Any thoughts? Like them, dislike them? Post it all here :D

I got there album a few months back. They're pretty fucking awesome. Definitely going to be big.

They're definitely going with the Coldplay template, but there's just enough of a swagger there that they dont come off completely Coldplay-ish in my estimation.

But yeah, people on this thread better watch out for Air Traffic, I don't know how many records it'll take for them to be huge, but it's gonna happen.

Yayyy! a reply!

I just scanned the album.. and i really like it so far

Just Abuse Me is SOOO good!

But, i cant get past shooting star... play counts at 13 and i've only known of the song for about a few hours! :embarassed:

lol yeah air traffic has certainly peaked my interest, like all bands, you gotta wait for the sophomore effort to see if they're the real thing.

shooting star and no more running away are my favorites as well.

I'm a big fan of this band. I think Chris Wall, the lead singer, has a really good voice and the music is pretty awesome. They remind me a bit of early Coldplay and even Muse on some of their songs. Fave songs include No More Running Away, Shooting Star, Charlotte and Left Out In The Rain.

Shooting Star IS AMAZING and Charlotte is pretty cool as well!

Yeah def! Their great...

No More Running Away casts a spell on me everytime...

I heard that Empty Space was written after Chris Wall lost his friend in a car crash.... :(

P.S: Chris Wall is pretty hot too! :)

they played a gig at my uni, but I missed it....kinda wish that I had gone!!!

Charlotte is a well played song in my library :nice: good song!

We had one of these before, I think.

Anyways, Air Traffic = WIN.

The album is astonishing, even after a year.

However, I think that one of the b-sides to Charlotte, a track called An End To All Our Problems, is their best song. It is just unbelievable.

Hurry up with the new album already! :D

Really? That's so sad. It's such a pretty song

OMG i can't believe i forgot to mention that song, it's incredible! :stunned:

*merged threads*

Might I assume they are busy in the studio recording album number 2 as I haven't heard much lately.

I just love Air Traffic. Cant wait to see them again. And I just loved this pic of them. its great they're not huge yet, because it means I can still go to tiny clubs like the Knitting Factory and see them (from this year at some point - a few months ago I believe). and a whole lot more pics at Air Traffic at Knitting Factory 5/24/08

Sometimes it's better that a band doesn't make it huge

Mainly as it's a better chance to seeing them live in a smaller venue
