Are you careful with what you write on here?

Featured Replies

I was on another forum I visit just before, and saw a thread about posting.

When posting on this forum, in any part of it, Coldplay, The Lounge, World of Music etc, do you feel scared to post your opinion or say something because of the reaction you might get?

It's an anonymous poll so be honest. Because we have a few personalities on here who are very opinionated and arguemental in some aspects, and when I think about it, that might have put me off creating a thread or replying to one.

Just curious.

Sometimes I might be careful.....

I'm not careful what I say, but because there are so many personalities, and we don't all speak english as a first language, I'm sometimes careful how I say things.

^^^Yeah I noticed that..sometimes I just wish you would not sugarcoat it and put your foot down.

lol...yeah, I know. But part of what I do on here is promoting the CD too. so, I try to be as diplomatic as possible, because I don't want to lose my temper and have it reflect badly on the project. You never know who is reading, lol.

OH right true.............

No , there is no holding back! sometimes i might say something that is incorrect, like i did about the band manager, but had i not said it, i would never have learned i was incorrect

I say what I mean when I say it.

And that'd be the option "Sometimes"

well sometimes I am......usually I don't want to hurt people.....so when I'm argueing with someone I always try to find apprppriate arguments...and then I am really careful what I post...

I guess what I'm trying to ask is...

Sometimes on forums I've been about to write a post, or have started to write a post and thought "well... if I say that, <username> will jump on it and argue and I can't be bothered with that"

Cause that's happened to me once or twice on here. I was wondering if it is like that for other people too.

ah I think I know what you mean......and I think this has happened to me sometime as well......I think I've even edited posts...

aw

well sometimes I am nice and sometimes I'm a jerk :uhoh: I don't mean to be a jerk always though

I used to worry about that more than I do now. I've posted when I've known it would probably get jumped on because I believe what I'm saying is right.

It's an online forum for gods sake.

If you get scared about what people might think on an Internet site then how on earth do you survive your everyday life when I assume you deal with people face to face?

Just pretend they aren't there?

Come on. (yes, I'm one of those people who has opinions)

Get yourself out down the Head Of Steam or something.

Y'know the guitarist from Stunt (playing down Head of Steam tonight) is my media teacher....

And, get your head out of your ass man. I used the term scared very loosly. Cautious would have been a better choice of words. If you think you're the tough guy with your "I don't care what other people think cause it's the internet and people need to just get a life" attitude then go on. Interestingly enough, your opinion wouldn't be one of the opinions I'd be cautious about.

Please. Don't bother considering accusing me of needing to get out. I'll just pretend you aren't there. :p

I sometimes do, I don't want to offend anyone here and all....yet I still wanna speak my mind.

yes. I am careful. When I write "you all suck" I write it backwards so no one can read it legitimately :sneaky:

Hmmm...this thread just became ironic.;)

If you're referring to me not being cautious about what I type, it was deliberate. :p

Edit: Added the :p so as to not seem snappy.

There, back to caution.

I figured it was deliberate,lol.;)

I guess that's what smilies are for!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Depends... I have faded it to the background on this site...

There was a time when I was not careful at all what I had written....

But then I started to get to know people,

I have sometimes got involved in Politial Auguments and learnt to keep my opionions to my self as the board was almost at civil war once.

Haha. Look, I'm not trying to be a dick, honestly. :)

I don't know anyone from Stunt, no.

And.....I really just said "get out to the Head of Steam" to hint at the fact I live around the area. I was in the 'Steamer' on Tuesday night actually.

I wasn't acting like a "tough guy" though was I - because how could a sensible and sane person even conjure such socially removed thoughts; acting out some sort of dominating physical force on others within a virtual plain is far from any of my intentions.

My vote was for "sometimes" in your poll.

I must just be reacting to the plethora of pure digital diarrhoea that has swiftly smeared itself across large sections of this place in the past few weeks.

However, I don't feel this thread is part of the extended tripe that has started to be posted here.

The thing is that I hate digging through piles of unessasry shit to find the gems. As do most people - I hope.

Ha ha. I had to go through and bump a few threads that I felt wre important because of the club craze. I can't bitch since I started one, but I still do bitch, lol.

I used to jump into the political debates on here, and love it. But they led to so much insulting instead of debating, that I stopped bothering. Most people tried to make their points, others just called anyone who disagreed an a**hole, and that's not what I consider intelligent debate. So I just gave up.

Fair point.

I hated when it when I'd get provoked into name calling. It doesn't seem to go on AS much here anymore though. (political arguments have their way dying out on here - mostly when the other person realises that they don't care really and just get on with their life)

I mean I post all over the net and you experience some really dumbed-down people.

When I get dragged into slightly spiky debates I always try and still make a valid point - no matter how much pointless swearing has occurred in the post. It's only because I care, honestly.
