Reilly
Yeah Sharapova was amazing because shes only 16! I mean, God... She'd be doing GCSE's if she wasnt a professional tennis player, or if she wasnt.. Russian. Russian nation is ruling the game now.

dionisio
yeah...but he depends too much on his serve...i think he played good yesterday...but hell have to keep it :)
DoogieJ
aye, this is, I feel, Henman's best chance to win Wimbledon....if he can beat Grosjean/Ferrero next round, then Philippoussis in the semis...he will face Roddick more than likely in the final...all winnable...no Sampras or Ivanisevic (his two banes for most of his Wimbledon career) no Hewwit and no Agassi...definitely doable... Guy'sChick
i say henman wins this year! hes the best and i hope he wins too!
Reilly
Henman the best? Its silly when English fans think Henman's actually GOOD because hes gotten to 4 semi finals at Wimbledon, theres more tournaments than Wimbledon. Henman hasnt gotten to the quarter final of ANY other grandslam tournament, ever, and he still hasnt won any tournament, grand slam or minor. He's decent, Philipousis and Roddick whip his ass generally, even Federer well out classes Tim Henman. But Tim Henman has home support, and its quite hell of a support, it puts off the opposing player, and causes them to lose concentration. But some guys are just too professional for that. Tim Henman could beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon, but guys like Roddick and Philipousis are way too confident, and generally way too good to let Henman's support beat them down (*Thinking back to Roddick's cocky whipping stick style when Rusedski riled up the crowd in R2, he was having none of it*). Tim could reach the final with his support but I'd be very surprised if he beat Roddick or Philipousis. Damnit! I really woulda wanted to see a Roddick v Philipousis final. Oh well. Dont get me wrong though I like Tim Henman, his matches are exciting whether at Wimbledon or not, I hope he does well (Which he has been doing). DoogieJ
Tim has the perfect game for grass, he's a grass court specialist, unfortunately these days, there just aren't a lot of games on grass...If he just wins wimbledon once he will be a national hero for ever, doesn't matter if he never won anything else. There are plenty of players who have won the French open and done bugger all elsewhere and still been number 1, Gustavo Kuerten for example. That's why i have so much respect for Agassi, he's won every open, most of them from the age of 28+, an age where most players are out of their prime and in decline (Sampras retired at 31?) Reilly
Well Henman's out now. Look at what happened, Grosjean actually managed to keep his calm and generally outplayed Tim (I will admit that Tim had a few fightbacks, but all in all was not a huge force to be reckoned with) and is Grosjean really a special player? Hell no. This coulda been Tim's year because there is no definite favourite for Wimbledon, but that said if he cant make it past Grosjean what kinda chance would he have against a Philipousis or a Roddick. Tim said it best himself, chances of him winning Wimbledon just get thinner every year. I cant see him winning it, ever. And it looks like another Serena and Venus final... But Clijsters was soo close to stopping that, so was Henin (Sp?) actually, but I wanted to see Serena get some revenge. Henin didnt play that French Open semi final completely fair at all, and that antic when she put her hand up blatantly to stop Serena from serving and then obviously lied to the judge afterwards, that was a very dirty act. Moses
ahhh crap. i taped the finaly game today with Philipousis and i taped it on the wrong channel and all day i've been hoping they'll replay the games like they did with all the other fricken games but they haven't. i'm so bummed out. i was actually looking forward to it. and i haven't checked who won yet just in case they show the game later tonight. i'm gonna give up soon and go check out who won. i actually really started to like Mark Philipousis this tournament. and maybe it's just me, but I think he's a really good looking guy as well. he's no Patrick Rafter, but still really good.
