Hello everyone.

I've been lurking for quite some time here and only registered today because I felt I had nothing to bring up to the conversation.

I thought you might be interested in watching a video I did as part of a student project in advertising (for Orange cellphone company). The driving idea was to picture the Power of Sharing as emotionnally as possible.

Hope you enjoy it. Let me know how you feel about it ;-)

Cheers,

I think it would be a great advertising for Orange France, as it's about great moments in their ones at French tv's advertising and some great movies ("lost in translation", "amélie"...) :)

Great work

wow, that was amazing. i really really enjoyed that. very professional!!!

Wow, I was not expecting such a welcome (neither was the feature on the website) !

Thanks for the appreciation. It's even more sincere that we really did put alot of energy - and time - into this so we're really glad it triggered something - whether sad or joyful - in you. After all, that was the very purpose of this video : The Power of Sharing, right ? ;-)

I liked it a lot!

What did your prof./classmates said about it?

The reaction is usually very surprising in fact.

In private showings, people tend to stay stunned while nodding because it triggered tons of emotions in their memory. Some discreetly stare at their feet with humid eyes.

The two times we showed it in front of a larger audience, we got braced with applauses that were so unexpected they made us shiver from head to toe.

In both cases, it's one of those rare moments you feel incredibly alive because of what you triggered.

It's a real shame the client (Orange) never got the chance to see it as it was originally scheduled (they stood all of us up)...

Orange would not have been able to use it anyway as they would not have got permission from Coldplay to use 'Fix You'. Coldplay's music has never been used in direct advertising, nor do the band allow it to be. Don't take it personally ;)

Oh in fact, it was not designed as a potential commercial (too much legal rights problem indeed, and Orange often uses music without lyrics anyway), just as a "mood board" video to convey our strategy better than with cheesy words.

:pleased: I know that the kicking the ball thing is from a verb ad

Footage come from different movies (Lost in Translation, 21 Grams, Animatrix for those I do remember), music videos, other adverts (including old Orange ads), motion graphics demo, etc. We spent like 2 months finding the right imagery, so I would be terribly bad at remembering of most of them... :-(

i think this ad was brilliant!:)

The footage was very good!

I was too wondering where you had found all that scenes...

I was gonna say that but didn't want to be the one :laugh3:

It is a nice ad though. Good job! :D

What a beautiful montage! Well done!! Thank you for sharing, and welcome to the board. :)
