It's great to have the album out & hear all the studio versions of the songs.

I'm super happy that 'For Now' and 'This Oubliette' made it onto the album.

Now I know that the forum over at http://thedominostate.com/forum/ is looking pretty quiet... so I thought we could start posting some thoughts about the album over there?

It's not officially launched yet but it's accessible... so let's get involved!

Hope to see some of you over at the TDS Forum soon! :D

Review over at Retrophobic: http://www.retrophobic.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=841:the-domino-state-uneasy-lies-the-crown&catid=13:new-stuff&Itemid=26

"The Domino State had supported Coldplay on their arena tour. Musically this far surpasses anything that Coldplay have ever recorded or are capable of writing."

(I have to say that I quietly went 'Ouch' when I read that...) ;)

Me too ... :laugh3:

I mean, don't get me wrong ...

TDS's debut album is really, and I mean REALLY great but somehow I fear that too much praisals and comparison to other bands may only put even more pressure on the band.

Okay, some bands just need that to get even better and such, but the higher you stand the deeper you can fall ... :\

And honestly ... you can't really compare TDS to Coldplay or the other way round

Have to bump that thread again as there are new live dates available and if I'm allowed to make a recommendation: try to catch them on any of these gigs.

On the first four shows they are supporting The Boxer Rebellion.

Oct. 17th - Birmingham/England

Hare & Hounds w/The Boxer Rebellion

Oct 18th - Edinburgh/Scotland

Cabaret Voltaire w/The Boxer Rebellion

Oct 19th - Manchester/England

Fac251 w/The Boxer Rebellion

Oct 20th - Bristol/England

The Fleece w/The Boxer RebellionBristol, England, UNITED KINGDOM

Oct 30th - London/England

Notting Hill Arts Club

Dec 3rd - Manchester/England

Night & DayManchester

Haven't figured out yet whether the last two dates will be their own headlining gig or whether they will be supporting a diferent band.

Either way, it's so worth it to go to any of these gigs :)

*wishes they will play somewhere like Salisbury City Hall or Winchester Railway* ;)

Okay ... sorry in case people already know but I thought I would drop this info here as well as it might get more people checking them out ...

This gig which takes place in London on October 30th at the Notting Hill Arts Club is a 'daytime' gig and is completely FREE!!

You don't need to pay for the tickets so there's absolutely NO REASON not to go ;)

Around 3 - 4 different bands take the stage there and The Domino State are the headliner and will take the stage at around 6.55 pm.

I am going, do you?? :D

Back from London and back from an absolutely brilliant performance of The Domino State.

I'm still in awe about their gig, indescribable good!

I took quite a few (soundwise) very good video and I'd like you to have a look at them.

Here's the band's newest single, 'You Are The Winter' - ENJOY!! :)

i think i need to start bugging them for a London gig...i'm now quite sure there's no way i can make it for a holiday to Germany. darn project deadlines. :(

Ohhh ... what a bummer :(

It would be sooo very great to have you over here as well.

Next time, maybe ;)

I'm pretty sure that there will be more concerts to come :)

Maybe also London again :D

you'd think they'd play more London gigs...since the guys work & live in London.

& that Notting Hill Arts Club venue is pretty nice. or maybe they can do another free gig, but in Camden this time...the Wheelbarrow comes to mind. :)
