Music festival off as floods hit

An indie music festival in Oxfordshire has been postponed after heavy rain left much of the site under several feet of water.

The Truck Festival was due to have hosted acts such as Idlewild, Jack Penate and Lethal Bizzle this weekend.

But a statement said the camping, parking and audience areas were "underwater and dangerous".

Meanwhile, organisers of the Glade dance festival in Berkshire have said their event will go ahead.

Gates were closed after severe weather on Friday, but were later re-opened.

Truck, which is often described as a smaller Glastonbury because of its friendly atmosphere, was expecting 5,000 fans.

Tickets sold out in an hour when they went on sale earlier this year - but the event will be rescheduled for the weekend of 22 September.

Set up by the band Goldrush 10 years ago, the festival was due to take place at Hill Farm, Steventon.
